Hawks vs Bulls Analysis
Interesting game tonight as the Bulls take on the Hawks, and the books have Chicago as a slight favorite at -1.5 with a total of 231.
Big news is the availability of Trae Young with the ankle injury, and as of now he did not participate in the morning shoot around. I’ll handicap this game as if he will not play tonight.
Bulls Losing to Good Teams
Right now this Bulls team just can’t quite get over the hump against playoff teams. They lost their last two games (Miami and Memphis) and prior to that ripped off six straight wins against teams not in the playoffs right now.
Before that they lost to Phoenix and Philadelphia in back to back nights. They beat this Atlanta team three games ago behind one of DeRozan’s massive games, and even though Trae Young played in that game he was awful going 3-17 from the field for 14 points.
Chicago will have the same starting lineup tonight as they did in that game so can they beat this Hawks team with no Young or a compromised Young if he does try and play?
Hawks Up and Down
The Hawks roller coaster season continues as they’ve alternated wins and losses the last four games, and they have to be worried about Trae’s injury.
This is the first game of a back to back as they get Chicago tonight and putrid Washington tonight so they may see if Trae can go tonight and skip tomorrow as they don’t play again til Monday.
Trae got injured against Boston, and even though he played through the game the Hawks got beat by nine as Boston dominated them in the second half behind Tatum’s 33 points, and Boston was even without Jaylen Brown most of the game. I see red flags for Atlanta tonight.
Hawks vs Bulls Prediction
Even on a bad ankle, Trae scored over 30 points and the Hawks couldn’t get the job done against Boston, and if Trae down’t play that means the leading scorer for the Hawks will be Bogdonovic who averages 14 points a game. The Bulls should have too much fire power tonight with Lavine, Vucevic and DeRozan, I’ll roll the dice that Trae doesn’t play or if he does won’t be near 100%, and the Bulls pull away late.
Prediction: Bulls Moneyline

Hawks vs Bulls Player Props
From GoldSheet: Quick turnaround from last Thursday when the Bulls squeezed a 112-108 win and narrow cover (as 3-point chalk) at United Center in the first game back from the All-Star break.
It was another big show from DeMar DeRozan (who has had a lot of those lately), scoring 37 and adding more fuel to Stephen A. Smith’s fire as chair of the DeRozan-for-MVP Committee.
Though last week’s result was as much about the stinker put forth by Trae Young, who apparently wished the break lasted a bit longer after enduring one of his worst shooting nights of the season (3 for 17).
At FanDuel, Clint Capelas rebounds are 10.5 (over -130) with Zach Lavine’s 3-pointers made at 2.5 (over -125).
