Hawks vs Hornets Analysis

*All lines provided by DraftKings

The Charlotte Hornets travel to Atlanta to face the Hawks in a play-in elimination game. Both teams finished the season with a 43-39 record, winner goes to Cleveland for another elimination game, loser goes home.

The Hornets come in after three consecutive victories to end the season including a 124-108 victory over the Washington Wizards in the regular season finale.

The Hawks have won seven of their last nine, including a 130-114 win over the Houston Rockets in the final game of the season. These teams split the four game regular season series with each team stealing a game on the others home floor.

Hawks vs Hornets Team Total Props

Atlanta is favored by 5 points with a total of 236, setting the Hornets team total at 115.5 and the Hawks at 120.5. Looking at head-to-head scores, the Hawks won at home 115-105 and 113-91 on the road.

Meanwhile the Hornets won 116-106 at home and 130-127 in Atlanta. Surprisingly only one of these regular season games went over the total in a matchup of two teams known for scoring and poor defense.

However it’s hard to ignore that we also have the 4th and 6th best scoring teams in the NBA going head-to-head. I don’t have a strong play here, but I’ll take a shot with the over on the Hornets.

Team Total Prop Play: Charlotte Hornets Over 115.5

Hawks vs Hornets Player Props

This game should have should be interesting to watch two young point guards try and push their team to victory. But with that comes high totals for player props.

Trae Young over assists was a play we cashed on multiple occasions when it was set at 9.5, it’s 11.5 for this game.

LaMelo Balls PRA total is through the roof at 38.5. Both seem well suited for same game parlay action. For the main player prop we will take advantage of a well known Hornet weakness, guarding Centers. They allow the 3rd most points (25.29) and 2nd most rebounds (17.51) per game to opposing centers.

Clint Capela eclipsed his 27.5 points + rebounds + assists total in 2 of 4 games against Charlotte, falling short in games where he played lesser minutes.

In his last game against the Hornets he played 31 minutes and scored 17 points with 15 rebounds and an assist for a 33 PRA total. He should be relied on heavily tonight, especially since John Collins is still out.

Player Prop Play: Clint Capela Over 27.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

Hawks vs Hornets Player Prop Parlay

We have already went over how we feel about a big effort from Clint Capela tonight. Eleven will be the number for him in this parlay, 11+ points and 11+ rebounds.

We mentioned cashing with Trae Young needing double digit assists. His number is 11.5, but we lowered that to 9.5 or 10+.

Lamelo Ball has been on fire, he’s had 30+ PRA in four straight and 9 of hid last 10 games. Add that as the 4th and final leg and we have an amazing price of +155.

Same Game Parlay Play:

Clint Capela 11+ Points
Clint Capela 11+ Rebounds
Trae Young 10+ Assists
Lamelo Ball 30+ PRA
+155
