The fourth and final meeting of the regular season is by far the most highly anticipated, as Kyrie Irving is expected to make his Dallas debut. The game will be featured on ESPN.
Irving, who said he felt disrespected in Brooklyn, noted that he wanted to be “celebrated and not tolerated.”
There had been talk that Kyrie would end up in Los Angeles, either with the Lakers or the Clippers. Needless to say, those rumors never materialized.
Many people have an opinion on Irving. Some really like him and others don’t. Regardless of where one stands, there’s no denying his talent. He’s been playing at a very high level recently. Time will tell whether or not Dallas made the right move.

Los Angeles Clippers vs Dallas Mavericks Betting Analysis
These teams have similar records. The Mavs are 29-26. The Clippers (31-26) have the same number of losses but two more victories.
LA has fared better at the betting window. Though, that’s not saying much. While the Clippers are just 29-28 ATS, Dallas is a poor 20-33-2 ATS.
The Clippers have fared roughly the same, regardless of venue. They’re 14-11 at home and 17-15 on the road. Having played seven more on the road than at home, they should benefit from a few extra home games in the second half.
Playing at home is a bigger deal for Dallas. The Mavericks are 19-9 at home but 10-17 on the road.
The Spotlight
Everyone is looking forward to watching Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving play together. They should immediately form one of the most deadly and dynamic duos in the NBA.
That pairing will have to wait though. Doncic is out with injury. That means that Irving gets the spotlight for himself. Would he really want it any other way?
Not So Fast
The Clippers don’t plan to let Kyrie march into their building and upstage them in front of a national audience. Off back-to-back wins, they’re 8-2 their last 10 games.
They’re 2-1 SU and 3-0 ATS in the season series. The lone game here at Los Angeles saw them win by a dozen points. Doncic still had a big game (43 points) but no other Dallas player did.
While Kyrie will have his moments, I lean to another Los Angeles win and cover. Note that LA is 39-21-1 ATS (45-16 SU) its past 61 at home, when the O/U line was set at 220 or higher.

As I mentioned, I favor the Clippers for the game. Let’s also take a look at a free player proposition.
The Mavs are going to need to replace Doncic’s scoring. Irving is the obvious answer. At least, you know that’s going to be what many are thinking.
I’m thinking that it’s going to be hard to step into a new team and immediately carry the scoring load. The Clippers allow only 105.7 ppg here at Los Angeles. No other team allows fewer points on its home floor. I think Irving’s first big breakout game will have to wait.
