Los Angeles Clippers vs Denver Nuggets Betting Analysis
The Denver Nuggets visit Los Angeles for a Western Conference showdown with the Clippers on Friday the 13th. The Clippers snapped a six game losing streak with a 113-101 home victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday evening.
The Nuggets won their fourth straight game as they smoked the Phoenix Suns 126-97 on Wednesday night. This is the third of four regular season meetings as Denver currently leads the series 2-0. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 PM EST/7:00 PST as the nightcap of an ESPN Friday night doubleheader.
Nuggets Sweep Four Game Home Stand
The Denver Nuggets completed a sweep of a four game homestand with a victory over the Suns to improve to 28-13 on the season. Denver had a tremendous advantage from long distance as they went 15-34 for 44.1% from three-point land compared to Phoenix who only went 9-32 for 28.1%.
Nikola Jokic was the game leader in all three categories with 21 points, 18 rebounds and 9 assists. Bones Hyland added 21 points off the bench while Jamal Murray chipped in with 16 points.
All five Nuggets starters reached double digits. Denver has the leagues best record at 18-3 but are .500 on the road at 10-10. The Nuggets rank 5th in scoring with 117 points a game on league high 51% from the field.
Defense has been a different story as they sit at 20th in defensive rating and 15th in defensive scoring with 113.2 points allowed per game. Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Bruce Brown all have been tagged as questionable for this contest while Jeff Green has already been ruled out.
Clippers Snap Six Game Skid
The Los Angeles Clippers ended a lengthy six game losing streak to up their record to 22-21 with a victory over the Mavericks on Tuesday evening. The Clippers had the exact same advantage in rebounding and points in the paint at 46-32.
Kawhi Leonard led all scorers with 33 points on an insanely accurate 9-12 from the floor and 12-12 from the charity stripe. Norman Powell came through with 27 points off the bench while Terance Mann and Marcus Morris Sr chipped in with 12 points each.
The Clippers are one the NBAs worst scoring teams with only 109.2 points per game. Defense is their calling card as they sit at 5th in defensive rating and 4th in defensive scoring with 110 points allowed per game.

Los Angeles Clippers vs Denver Nuggets Prediction
The Los Angeles Clippers are favored by 2.5 points with a total set at 224.5. The Nuggets have already beaten the Clippers twice, 114-104 on the road and 122-91 at home.
However Kawhi Leonard didn’t play in either of those games. Based on this spread I’m assuming that Jokic and/or Murray are sitting tonight.
The Nuggets are a completely different team at home with an 18-3 record compared to 10-10 on the road. They average 119.8 points per game with home cooking but only 114.2 points in away games. The Clippers boast the 4th best defensive rating in the league as they allow only 110 points per game.
I don’t trust this line and firmly believe Denver will rest Jokic tonight as this is a quick one game road trip sandwiched in between four and five home games.
If that’s the case, this game will turn into a sloppy low scoring game. Let’s take on shot on the Nuggets team total under 111.5.
