Miami Heat vs Cleveland Cavaliers Analysis

The Heat continue their home stand against the Cavaliers tonight, and even though Jimmy Butler is listed as a game time decision, I expect him to play tonight and the books apparently do as well. The Heat are -7.5 favorites with a total of 210, and I’ll handicap this game with the expectation that Butler will play.

Beast of the East

The Heat remain the number one team in the Eastern Conference despite getting blown out by Phoenix last game, but Butler sat that game out. The Heat are 12-3 their last 15, and they’re 4-1 ATS their last five.

With Kyle Lowry in the lineup able to guard Garland, and no Jarrett Allen for Adebayo to deal with, they could be in a good spot tonight. Don’t pay attention to the two games these teams played earlier this year as the lineups are completely different. When Butler is in the lineup, this team can score as they’ve scored 111 or more in nine out of 11 games and this stat will appear again in my play of the game.

Righting the Ship

The Cavs have won two in a row after losing six out of seven games as they try, and hold on to the sixth seed in the East.

Add Jarrett Allen to the list of injured Cavs starters as they have moved Mobley to center and Dean Wade now plays power forward, and they got away with it against Toronto and Indiana, but Bam is a different animal than what the Raptors and Pacers can offer so this will be a tough test for Mobley. The Cavaliers are 3-0 ATS, but I won’t be playing a spread as my best bet in this game.

Miami Heat vs Cleveland Cavaliers Prediction

I think this under is too low for tonight so I’ll take the over 210 points. When Butler plays the Heat get over 110, and Cleveland has scored 127 and 104 their last two games. Garland, Butler, and Bam offer great scoring options, and Miami can always get hot from three point land. I expect a close game with both teams getting over 100 points and easily getting over this 210 total.
