Miami Heat vs Detroit Pistons Betting Analysis
The Detroit Pistons pay a visit to American Airlines Arena for an Eastern Conference clash with the Miami Heat on Tuesday night. The Heat are playing the second game of a back-to-back after falling short 101-93 last night in Memphis.
The Pistons lost yet another game, 122-112 at home against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday afternoon. This will be the first of three games in a regular season series that Miami won 3-1 in the 2021-22 campaign. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 PM EST/4:30 PST from South Beach.
Bring The Heat Home
The Miami Heat fell short 101-93 last night in Memphis against the Grizzlies. All five starters scored in double digits while no one from the bench scored more than 6 points. As a matter of fact, the starters scored 83 off the 94 points scored by Miami.
Tyler Herro led the way with a 23 point 13 rebound double-double. Jimmy Butler added 18 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds. At 11-13 the Miami Heat currently sit at 9th place in the Eastern Conference. The Heat only score 108.8 points per game on 45% shooting, ranking 28th in the league.
Butler leads the team with 21.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game. Defense is the calling card for Miami as they rank 8th in points allowed with only 109.9 per game.
Victor Oladipo (knee) and Omer Yurtseven (ankle) have not seen the court yet this season. They have both already been ruled out for tonight’s contest and are the only players listed on the injury report.
Pistons 2-11 On The Road
The Detroit Pistons record dropped to 6-19 on the season after losing 122-112 at home against the Memphis Grizzlies. Saddiq Bey led the team with 24 points off the bench on 7 of 16 from the field. Bojan Bogdonavic added 18 points while Killian Hayes added 13 points.
The Pistons have predictably struggled this season as adding injuries to a young nucleus haven’t equalled many wins. They have lost 7 of their last 10 games and are already behind 11.5 games in their division. On the year, Detroit is 23rd in scoring with 110.1 points a game and 23rd in rebounding with 42.5 per game.
The Pistons defense is atrocious as they rank 29th with 118.2 points allowed per game. Cade Cunningham is by far the top player on this team and he has been out since November 9th with a shin injury that could require surgery. Isaiah Livers is the only player currently on the injury report as he is out with a shoulder injury.
Miami Heat vs Detroit Pistons Prop Prediction
The Miami Heat are favored by 8.5 points with a total 220. This isn’t the most exciting game on the schedule as one team will be short-handed while the other is actively tanking for Wembanyama.
We have two teams that rank poorly in offensive efficiency and play at a slow pace. The Heat rank 24th in offensive efficiency and 19th in pace while the Pistons rank 25th in offensive efficiency and 21st in pace.
With this being a back-to-back Miami could slow things down even more. The Pistons are a bottom of the barrel offense, their team total is set at 106.5 and Miami allows 108.8 a game to the average offensive attack.
Detroit could keep this game close as it turns into a rock fight. I don’t see the Pistons scoring much against this Heat defense, give me the under on their team total.
