The 12-17 Indiana Pacers travel into Milwaukee for a Wednesday night showdown with the 18-11 Bucks at Fiserv Forum. The Pacers will look to bounce back after a hard fought 102-100 home loss to the Golden State Warriors. The Bucks are coming off a rare loss of their own in Boston against the Celtics by a score of 117-102. Milwaukee has handled their business against Indiana in two head-to-head meetings with similar scores of 119-109 and 118-100.
The Milwaukee Bucks lost more than just the game last time out against Boston, as Kris Middleton left the game with a hyperextended knee. Middleton remains questionable for Wednesday nights home contest. However, we have a breaking news alert at the writing of this article!!! Giannis Antetokounmpo has entered the leagues Covid-19 health and safety protocols and will be out for Wednesday night’s affair.
With that news, you would have to assume Middleton won’t be rushed back and will ultimately sit out this game as well. The Bucks will be without their leading scorer and rebounder in Antetokounmpo and their 2nd leading scorer in Middleton. On the season Milwaukee ranks 9th in points scored with 110.5 points per game. They have also played well defensively, giving up 106.9 points a game. They did give up 117 in their last game against Boston and will need to do a far better job defensively to get a win in this one.
The Pacers have played well recently with wins in three of their last four games. Domantas Sabonis has led the way, scoring 20+ points in five of his last six games including 30 on Monday night against Golden State. Sabonis has also amazingly recorded double digit rebounds in 12 straight games. Malcolm Brogdon leads the team in scoring and assists on the season with 19.9 and 6.2 per game respectively.
The Pacers rank 16th in scoring with 107.8 points a game and 12th in points allowed with 106 a game. This game offers an amazing opportunity for Indiana to get a win against a short-handed Bucks team. But they shouldn’t take them lightly, cause teams without their superstars seem to band together in this league.
The Bucks are of the most public teams in the league and their against the spread record has suffered at 12-17. They aren’t much better at home, as they are 4-9 ATS. The Pacers are just above .500 ATS overall and just below .500 ATS on the road. Both teams trend towards the under as Milwaukee is 11-18 ATS, while Indiana is 13-16 ATS to the over/under.
The wounded Bucks are still favored by 2 points in this contest. I’m going to take shot with the Pacers money line at +105 and leave the minimal points on the table. The Pacers are in great form recently and missing Antetokounmpo and Middleton may be too much for Milwaukee to overcome.
Domantas Sabonis has been on quite the scoring run and his points prop is set at 17.5. Sabonis has cleared this number in 4 straight games as well as 5 of his last 6 games. Without the “Greek Freak” the Bucks will lack the size to defend him. Give me Sabonis over 17.5 points for our player prop.

The Greek Freak scored 28 ppg, had 11.5 rpg and 6 apg in a pair of similar double-digit Milwaukee victories over the Pacers in Indianapolis Oct. 25 and Nov. 28. The “over” is 4-1 last 5, so if Middleton can play, that might work.
