Milwaukee Bucks vs Washington Wizards Analysis

After a few days’ rest, Kyle Kuzma and the Wizards travel to Fiserv Forum to take on Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. This is the Wizards’ second road game in a row and the Bucks’ second home game.

The Wizards took care of the Bucks the first time these two teams met back in November, but the Bucks got their revenge in their second matchup in early February.

The matchup in February had an almost identical spread to today’s game and the Bucks covered. The Bucks are 12 point favorites in the final meeting between these two teams this season and the total is set at 233.

Bucks Molding Into Postseason Form

The Bucks are 25-12 at home this season and are 27-18 in matchups against Eastern Conference foes. However, as a home favorite this season, the Bucks are just 14-20 against the spread.

As a favorite of 9.5 points or more at home, Milwaukee has only covered five times and they failed to cover seven times.

The Bucks are rolling right now and are 8-2 in their last 10 games. The Bucks are averaging big scoring nights over this stretch, but so are their opponents.

The Bucks are averaging 124.2 points per game over this stretch and their opponents are averaging 117.8 points per game.

Wizards Struggling to Win

On the other hand, the Wizards have been as ice-cold as any team in the NBA over the course of March. The Wizards are 2-8 in their last 10 games and are allowing opponents to average 119.1 points per game.

The Wizards may be missing their leading scorer Kyle Kuzma tonight with a knee ailment. As a road underdog this season, the Wizards are 10-14 against the spread this season.

Milwaukee Bucks vs Washington Wizards Prediction

When you have two teams that are trending in completely opposite directions, it actually makes the game more difficult to handicap.

Will the team that’s hot finally cool down? Will the team that’s been struggling finally wake up? Is the team that’s favored going to take a matchup with an inferior team seriously?

In this case, I like the Bucks to cover the 12.5 points. I think the Bucks are not in any mindset to slow down or play down to the Wizards level.

I do not think the Wizards have the skill players to hang around with the Bucks, especially if Kuzma is inactive. I think the Bucks put a beating on an Eastern Conference foe.

Prediction: Milwaukee Bucks -12.5
