Minnesota Timberwolves vs LA Clippers Analysis
The Timberwolves will be at full strength tonight as they host the Clippers, and the Wolves will be -3 points favorites with the total set at 230.5, and even though LA will be without Kawhi, they do have Paul George in the lineup.
They are coming in with momentum as they’ve won five straight games, however those wins aren’t as dominating as they may seem. We’ll take a look at this game and figure out the best bet on the board.
A Season of Maturity From Minnesota
I’m not saying they’re the most mature team in the league, but they stepped up and delivered a really good season getting 10 games above .500, and they managed to use their confidence to their advantage.
Edwards has had a knee issue this year, but seems to be explosive and ready for a playoff run. The Wolves are only 2-8 ATS in their last 10, but take it with a grain of salt as their seeding had been locked in for some time.
The other tough thing about this matchup is that they are 1-3 against the Clippers getting blown out three times by LA before November 14, but they won big on January 3rd however, these games featured different lineups so it’s hard to take a lot away from that. One consistent theme in their games is some big team totals, which we’ll get to later.
The Silent Clippers
The Clippers might be the least talked about team in the league coming into the playoffs, and maybe they’ve been hiding and waiting to pounce once the playoffs starts.
They’ve won six out of seven and five straight, but the wins are against tanking teams or teams with their playoff seeding locked into place.
That being said, all those wins are great for team morale and they’ve scored 113 or more in seven straight games. Incredibly enough, Patrick Beverley might be one of the big keys tonight as he’s going to try and agitate and frustrate Reggie Jackson and Paul George.
Minnesota Timberwolves vs LA Clippers Prediction
I’ll take the over in this game as I think we see fireworks. Minnesota ends the season with the highest pace in the league, and the Clippers have really picked up the offense since PG returned.
Minnesota has played four straight games where the final total was 244 or more, and the Clippers have scored 113 or more in seven straight. Both teams will fight to the end, I’ll take the over.
Prediction: Over 230.5
