NBA In-Season Tournament Group Play: Nov 3rd – Nov 28th

With five teams in each group, each of them plays four group play games. Two of those games will be at home and the other two away.

These designated games will be played every Tuesday and Friday (except Nov 7) between these dates and will be designated as “Tournament Nights”. Group play games will count towards regular season records.

NBA In-Season Tournament Group Breakdown

East Group A: 76ers, Cavaliers, Hawks, Pacers Pistons

East Group B: Bucks, Knicks, Heat, Wizards, Hornets

East Group C: Celtics, Nets, Raptors, Bulls, Magic

West Group A: Grizzlies, Suns, Lakers, Jazz, Trail Blazers

West Group B: Nuggets, Clippers, Pelicans, Mavericks, Rockets

West Group C: Kings, Warriors, Timberwolves, Thunder, Spurs

NBA In-Season Tournament Knockout Round: Dec 4 – Dec 5

Eight teams advance to the knockout round. The Winner of each group plus one wildcard from each conference which will be the best second place finisher in group play.

These will be single elimination games taking place in NBA team markets. These games will also be counted towards regular season records in which the two best teams in each conference will host quarterfinal games.

NBA In-Season Tournament Semi-Final and Final: Dec 7th & Dec 9th

Semi-final games will count towards NBA regular season records but the final game will not count in anyway shape or form towards regular season records including individual player statistics.

NOTE: When knockout games aren’t being played (Dec 6th and Dec 8th) the 22 teams who didn’t qualify for Knockout Round will play two regular season games each against others that didn’t qualify from the same conference.

Since there are an odd number of teams that won’t qualify from each conference (11 each), two of these 22 games will be played between western and eastern conference teams.

NBA In-Season Tournament Winning Prize

Each player from every team that makes it into the Knockout Round will receive at least $50,000. Prize numbers listed below are subject to growth in the coming years depending on Basketball Revenue Income.

Players of team that lose in the quarterfinals – $50,000
Players of team that lose in semifinals – $100,000
Players of team that lose in championship – $200,000
Players of team that wins championship – $500,000
