NBA Player Prop Predictions 1: Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant has fallen short of recording 8+ rebounds in two of four games this season. After dominating the boards with 11 rebounds in each of his first two games, he has only managed 4 and 2 rebounds in his last two games.

The season low of two was on Tuesday night in the same matchup against the San Antonio Spurs that he will see tonight.

The Spurs rank middle of the pack in rebounds allowed with 45.5 per game. However, Durant will again be guarding the #1 draft pick Victor Wembayama which pulls him from the paint defensively.

Durant also has a poor track record with rebounding against the Spurs, falling short in all three games last season with 3, 5 and 2.

The other major factor in his rebounding dip may be the absence of Devin Booker in the past two games which makes it harder for Durant to patrol the paint. Let’s look for a repeat performance on the glass by Durant tonight and take the under on a lofty number of 7.5.

NBA Player Prop Predictions 2: Jeremy Sochan OVER 1.5 Turnovers (-135 DraftKings)

Jeremy Sochan is technically listed as a forward but has acted as the starting point guard for the San Antonio Spurs out of necessity.

Through four games, Sochan has averaged 8.8 points and 4.3 assists in 27 minutes per game. More importantly, he has also averaged 2.3 turnovers per game with totals of 4, 2, 3 and 0.

The zero was actually two nights ago in the same matchup against the Phoenix Suns. The Suns rank 5th in defensive efficiency, and they rank above average with 3.96 opposing point guard turnovers per game.

Outside of Sochan on Tuesday night, every starting point guard that Phoenix has faced committed 2+ turnovers and they have increased in each game, starting with Steph Curry with 2, D’Angelo Russell with 3 and Jordan Clarkson with 5.

Bradley Beal remains out and Devin Booker is now listed as doubtful after only playing in the opener. That leaves better defensive options on the court such as Eric Gordon and Grayson Allen.

Sochan is in the process of working his way into being a point guard and he’s committed 2+ turnovers in blowouts and close games thus far.

Let’s take advantage of getting this turnover total at a reasonable price again and look for Sochan to be loose with the ball like we have seen in the past.
