NBA Player Props Predictions 1: Jamal Murray, Nuggets UNDER 7.5 Assists (-115) FD
Denver Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray has averaged 6.5 assists per game while falling short of this total in 20 of his 30 games thus far.
Murray did just record exactly 8 assists against the Indiana Pacers on January 14th but that was on only 8 potential assists, and I doubt he goes a perfect 100% again.
The Indiana Pacers also allow the 6th fewest assists per game and 6th fewest to opposing point guards with only 8.13 per game.
They have been even better recently as they rank 4th in assists allowed to opposing point guards during the last 15 games and their defense should only improve with the addition of Pascal Siakam.
When Murray gets into the paint against the Pacers, there isn’t a reason to pass as it’s easier to finish at the rim.
Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr are both probable but trending towards playing which will keep the assists spread out amongst the starters. Regardless I don’t see Murray reaching 8 assists again against Indiana based on the matchup.
NBA Player Props Predictions 2: Julius Randle, Knicks UNDER 40.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-111) FD
New York Knicks power forward Julius Randle is averaging 24.1 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists for an average of 38.3 Points + Rebounds + Assists on the 2023-24 campaign.
Randle has fallen short of this PRA total in 27 of 43 games for a 63% success rate to the under while also falling short in his last five games against the Brooklyn Nets.
It makes sense, as Randle has struggled against Cam Johnson throughout his career with 37 or less PRA in all 8 head-to-head games.
The Nets also allow the 5th fewest points (21.76/game) and 7th fewest assists (3.92/game) to opposing power forwards.
Forwards with less than a 38% usage rate or less than 41 minutes are 0-15 to this line on the season and Randle has only hit either of those in 4 of his 43 games.
This number is way too high considering all of these factors, most importantly his struggles against Cam Johnson and the Nets.
