New York Knicks vs Boston Celtics Betting Preview
The Boston Celtics take a trip to the Big Apple for an Eastern Conference clash with the New York Knicks on Saturday evening. The Knicks came from behind to win 106-104 last night in Philadelphia against the 76ers. The Celtics are also playing the second game of a back-to-back after beating the Chicago Bulls in a shootout 123-119 at home. This is the first of four games in a head-to-head season series that they split 2-2 in the 2021-22 campaign.

Knicks Edge Out 76ers
The New York Knicks got back to .500 at 4-4 after coming back in the fourth quarter and beating the Philadelphia 76ers 106-104 on Friday night.
Jalen Brunson tied Tobias Harris for game’s leading scorer with 23 points to go along with seven assists and six rebounds. RJ Barrett added 22 points while Julius Randle had a 17-point, 10-assist double-double.
New York entered the fourth quarter trailing by nine points but came away with a clutch road win. The Knicks’ defense took advantage of Philadelphia being without Joel Embiid and James Harden and held the Sixers to 37-percent shooting from the field.
The Knicks rank 21st in scoring defense while giving up just over 115 points per game. The Knicks also score 115 points a game, ranking 12th in the league.
Center Mitchell Robinson left Fridays game with right knee soreness and didn’t return, he is listed as day-to-day. No other player is listed on the injury report but it is the second game of a back-to-back, meaning players could be rested.
Tatum & Celts Out-duel DeRozan & Bulls
Jayson Tatum led the Boston Celtics to a 123-119 home victory against the feisty Chicago Bulls. Tatum paced his team in all three categories with 36 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. Malcolm Brogdon added 25 points from the bench while shooting an accurate 9-for-10 from the field.
The Celtics survived a 46-point effort by DeMar DeRozan as he and Tatum exchanged baskets. Tatum leads the team in points and rebounds per game with 30.8 and 7.3 respectively.
The Celtics’ defense hasn’t lived up to expectations without Robert Williams III on the court as they rank 18th with 114.4 points allowed per game. However they do rank seventh in scoring with over 116 points a game.
Robert Williams III is the only player listed on the Celts injury report but again this is the second game of a back-to-back so players could be rested.
New York Knicks vs Boston Celtics Prediction
Both teams enter the game after playing hard-fought games last night. Jayson Tatum is on another level right now, scoring 36 points last night to keep his average above 30 points a game. I could definitely see the Celtics resting players tonight and Marcus Smart took a nasty spill last night.
The Knicks’ defense has been allowing an average of 115 points a game and if the Celtics rotation is shortened it will give Tatum plenty of room to go up and over his point total.
