New York Knicks vs Indiana Pacers Predictions
- New York Knicks -3 vs Indiana Pacers
- Total: 213.5 Points
- The under is 9-3 in Indiana’s last 12 games, while the under is 5-1 in the Knicks’ last six.
- The Pacers are 6-1 against the spread in their last six games.
The Pacers, winners of three out of four, travel to New York to take on the Knicks, losers of three out of four and with both teams having Sunday off we should see full squads (fingers crossed). For the Pacers, a new coach has resulted in inconsistency as he implements new systems and gets to know the players. They have several impressive wins including at Utah off a back to back, and an OT win against Miami, but losses to Denver (with no Jokic) and Toronto (twice in 4 days) remind us that this team is not elite, but not a bottom dweller. Brogdon has been a bit point scorer along with Sabonis, and Chris Duarte has shown he can contribute immediately, but a lack of consistency, and a lack of defense are areas of concerns, and with this current roster it’s hard to see much improvement on defense coming anytime soon.
The Knicks are eerily similar in terms of suffering from a lack of consistency and a lack of defense as well and the started off the season strong, but are struggling now losing five of seven, and their two wins are not impressive as they beat a COVID depleted Philly team and a Milwaukee team without Middleton and Holiday playing limited minutes. They’re struggling to score recently as they’ve averaged less than 100 points the last three games, and with Randle being the only player averaging over 16 points a game they have a glaring weakness with players who can create their own shot.
Bottom line is this a game between two middle of the road teams who aren’t dominating on either side of the ball, but I don’t see anything that makes me want to lay three points with the Knicks who don’t have a good win since Oct. 28. The Pacers offense has put up 111 and 118 the last two games, and they should see more success against a Knicks team who isn’t slowing teams up at all. Because of my belief the Pacers can score on this team, I’ll eliminate the total from my wagers, but I will play the Pacers +3. They played the Knicks on November 3rd, and won 111-98. Myles Turner and Caris Levert had big games, but this time around Sabonis and Brogdon should sign as both are in a groove. The Knicks will need good games from someone other than Randle or Barrett, and I can’t find who that someone will be.

This might not make Spike Lee and other win-hungry Knicks fans very happy, but New York is suddenly wobbling a bit because they have forgotten how to win at Madison Square Garden. Tom Thibodeau had to radically alter his lineup combinations and rotations in recent games, benching all of his starters in the fourth quarter of last week’s home loss to the Bucks. The Pacers seem to be going about things in an opposite manner, starting slow but now picking up momentum with wins in five, and covers in six, of the last seven games. One of those recent wins was at the expense of the Knicks on Nov. 3 at Indy, when Myles Turner was the man of the match with 25 points and 17 boards. Malcolm Brogdon has also returned after a brief absence and immediately hit for 30 as the Pacers won at Utah last Thursday.
