New York Knicks vs Milwaukee Bucks Betting Analysis
The Milwaukee Bucks visit the Big Apple for an Eastern Conference showdown with the New York Knicks. The Knicks won their fourth straight game 112-108 north of the border against the Toronto Raptors. The Bucks are coming off an embarrassing loss 138-109 against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday.
This is the third and final meeting between these teams as Milwaukee is 2-0 in the series with finals of 109-103 and 119-108. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM EST/4:30 PST from Madison Square Garden.
Passing The Buck
The Milwaukee Bucks are licking their wounds after a 138-109 drubbing at the hands of the lowly Charlotte Hornets. The Hornets scored an NBA record 51 points in the first quarter alone.
The Bucks were outshot, out-rebounded and outscored 54-22 in the paint. The starters only played about 20 minutes each and their leading scorer was Bobby Portis with 19 points off the bench.
Milwaukee sits at only 19th in scoring with 112.4 points a game on 45.5% from the floor. Defense has been their calling card as they rank 3rd in defensive rating and 9th in scoring 111.2 points allowed per game. Khris Middleton and Serge Ibaka have both already been ruled out for this contest.
Knicks Coming In Hot
The New York Knicks are coming off their fourth straight victory over the Raptors in Toronto on Friday. The Knicks had 51-46 rebounding advantage in the game.
Julius Randle led all scorers with 32 points along with 11 rebounds and 3 assists. Jalen Brunson added 26 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds while Mitchell Robinson recorded a 10 point, 18 rebound double-double. The Knicks are middle of the pack in scoring with 114.2 points on 45.7% from the field.
They sit at 10th in both defensive rating and scoring with 111.3 points allowed per game. The only player listed on the injury report is a significant one as RJ Barrett is listed as doubtful with a finger laceration.
New York Knicks vs Milwaukee Bucks Prediction
This game is a virtual pick’em with the New York Knicks favored by only 1 point and a total of 221.5. This will be the Knicks third and final chance to beat Milwaukee unless they meet in the post-season.
The Bucks won both games by similar scores of 109-103 & 119-108 despite RJ Barrett scoring 20 & 26 points in those games. The Bucks have covered the spread in the last five games against the Knicks.
It’s very rare to be able to play Milwaukee on the money line as a slight underdog. I’m fully expecting a much better effort from Milwaukee after being humiliated against the Hornets.
Starters like Giannis Antetokounmpo only played 22 minutes and that was on Friday, so they are very well rested. Barrett leaves the Knicks without one of their best scorers ans defenders and Julius Randle has consistently struggled against the Bucks height. Give me the Bucks on a -108 money line.
