Orlando Magic vs Phoenix Suns Analysis
On Tuesday night, the Phoenix Suns travel to Orlando to take on the Magic in the second game of their three-game road trip.
This is a matchup of two polar opposites this season. The Suns are the best team in the Western Conference and they are arguably the best team in the NBA. The Magic have 16 wins this entire season, are last in the Eastern Conference and have arguably the worst team in the NBA this season.
The Suns will be without their star guard Devin Booker due to COVID protocols.
No Home Cookin’ in Orlando
Orlando is 7-22 at home this season, and they have a tough task in front of them in the Suns. While the Suns are without their best two players and a key role player, this is still a tough matchup for the Magic.
As a home underdog, the Magic are 6-19 against the spread this season. 2021 first-round pick Jalen Suggs has stepped up his play lately, but he is questionable to play Tuesday. Surprisingly, the Magic have won three of their last five games.
Key Missing Pieces
Without Devin Booker and Chris Paul, the Suns are a much different team. They have lost three of their last five games. Furthermore, the Suns are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games.
While it is no cause for concern since Booker should be healthy soon, the Suns have cooled off from their otherworldly start to the season. With still six weeks until Chris Paul comes back and the playoffs begin, the Suns need to continue to build momentum toward a championship run.
Orlando Magic vs Phoenix Suns Prediction
The Suns wiped the floor with the Magic the first time they faced off this season in February. Yes, Chris Paul and Booker were playing, but the Suns still won by 27 and covered a 16-point spread. Despite those missing key pieces, I still lean toward riding the Suns -7 in this matchup.
This game might present a good live betting opportunity. Orlando has won three of their last five games, so the Magic may come out hot and excited to take down one of the best teams in the NBA. But Orlando is simply devoid of talent, and that is going to show over the course of 48 minutes. If Orlando jumps out to a first quarter lead and that -7 spread comes down, look for an opportunity to jump on Phoenix at a reduced number.
