Phoenix Suns vs Denver Nuggets Betting Analysis
The Denver Nuggets host the Phoenix Suns for Game 6 of their Western Conference Semifinals matchup on Thursday night.
The Nuggets took a 3-2 series lead, winning Game 5 118-102 as -6.5 point favorites on Tuesday night. Now the series shifts back to Phoenix and the home team has won every game in thus far. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 PM EST/7:00 PST from the Footprint Center in Phoenix.
Jokers Wild
The Denver Nuggets have been dominant at home throughout the season and once again prevailed in Game 5 with a 16 point victory. Nikola Jokic led all scorers with 29 points while recording a triple-double with 13 rebounds and 12 assists.
Bruce Brown added 25 points in only 25 minutes off the bench while Michael Porter Jr chipped in with 19 points and 8 rebounds.
Jokic broke a tie with Wilt Chamberlain for most playoff triple-doubles for a center and has averaged 30.6 points, 13.1 rebounds and 9.5 assists throughout the post-season.
The Nuggets posted the best home record in the NBA but went just 19-22 on the road during the regular season and are only 1-3 in the post-season.
Denver ranks 5th in offensive efficiency, 18th in defensive efficiency and 25th in pace of play. They currently sport a clean injury report.
Suns Last Stand
The Phoenix Suns have their backs against the wall after losing in Denver and now need back-to-back wins against the #1 seeded Nuggets to advance. Devin Booker led his team in scoring with 28 points on 8-19 shooting.
Kevin Durant recorded a 26 points, 11 rebound double-double while falling just short of a triple-double with 7 assists.
The only other Sun to score double digits was De’Andre Ayton who scored 14 points while grabbing 9 rebounds.
Ayton is now questionable with a rib contusion as is Chris Paul who has missed two games with a groin strain and will likely miss Game 6. Phoenix ranks 16th in offensive efficiency, 7th in defensive efficiency and 22nd in pace of play.
The Suns go back home for Game 6 where they were 28-13 during the regular season and are 4-1 in the post-season.
Phoenix Suns vs Denver Nuggets Prediction
The Phoenix Suns enter this contest as 2.5 point road favorites with a total set at 226. The home team has won every game in this series and I don’t see a reason that changes tonight.
While I do like the Suns, we are going to focus on a player prop for tonight. Kevin Durant has also followed that trend, over his Points + Rebounds + Assists in both home games at home and under in all three games on the road.
Durant posted a 36 point, 11 rebound, 7 assist (53 PRA) effort in Game 4 and 39 point, 9 rebound, 8 assist (56 PRA) effort in Game 3. Durant has played 42+ minutes in each of the past four games after playing 36 minutes in Game 1.
I’m fully expecting the Suns open up the offense and max out Durants minutes in a home elimination game.
The high scoring games have been in Phoenix where they have scored 129 & 121 and Durant and Booker will get the lions share. Give me the over on Durants PRA total tonight in Phoenix.
