Phoenix Suns vs Los Angeles Clippers Analysis
The Suns open as a big 11.5-point favorite at home against the Clippers with total being 220, and despite Ayton and Crowder clearing protocols, they will not play in this contest. The Clippers are 3-4 since Paul George left with the elbow injury, and they’re coming off a bad loss against the Timberwolves.
It’s a big total, but Phoenix has won two straight by 34 and 13…so are we looking at another blowout or a Clippers cover?
Clippers Missing PG
The Clippers are a tough team to handicap right now as they have not had one person step up to fill the void left by Paul George, and it’s lead to inconsistency in spreads and totals. Marcus Morris lead the team in scoring for four straight games, then it was Bledsoe and then Ibaka.
We do see a trend in their recent losses that guards have had success against them, so we might be looking at a nice game from Booker who’s been playing well. They’ve also had high scoring games in four out of five games, so an over can’t be…over looked?!?
Phoenix on the Rebound
The Suns lost two out of three without Ayton, but have rebounded to beat Charlotte and New Orleans quite handily the last two games as Booker has picked up the scoring since Ayton went out. The two games they lost were against Memphis and Boston, and both those teams had monster games from their guard positions, but they’ve done a nice job adjusting as they’ve limited the damage from the perimeter the last two games, and the Clippers aren’t scarring anyone with their guards right now.
Phoenix Suns vs Los Angeles Clippers Prediction
When the Suns win, they score a lot of points, and I feel like they win this game, but I don’t like the -11.5 number so I’ll take the over for a sprinkle. Both teams have gone over this total in each of their last three games, and I think Phoenix in particular will have a nice game on offense.

Phoenix Suns vs Los Angeles Clippers Preview from GoldSheet
Phoenix back on track with a 3-1 SU and spread mark following its rare back-to-back losses, first on Christmas vs. Golden State and 2 days later hosing Memphis. This is a bit of a revenge game, as the Clippers were anything but polite hosts when the two met on Dec. 13 in LA, with Phoenix starters G Devin Booker (hamstring) and C Deandre Ayton (sick) missing from the lineup, the Suns were at an uncomfortable disadvantage, even with the Clippers without Paul George.
This time around the Suns will have Booker in the lineup while LA will be without not only George, but Luke Kennard (16 pts, 9 rebs., 4 assists in first game) and Isaiah Hartenstein (12 points, 5 rebs., 7 assists, 2 blocks) were important parts of the Clip success in the first meeting. Suns 6-3 last 9 laying 8½ or more at the Footprint Center. Play the over.
