NBA Player Prop Predictions 1: Tyrese Maxey

Philadelphia 76ers point guard Tyrese Maxey finished the 2022-23 regular season with 20.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists on 48.1% shooting from the field.

However, those numbers were recorded with James Harden on the court for the majority of the time. Harden won’t be a factor tonight and Maxey averaged 5.7 assists per 36 minutes on the floor without him last season while clearing this total in 10 of 13 games.

Maxey also only recorded 5+ assists once in four chances against the Milwaukee Bucks. Back then Maxey had to deal with the smothering defense of Jrue Holiday who has since left for Boston.

In his place, Dame Lillard who is much more concerned with the offensive end of the court. Maxey will be the primary ballhandler without any competition and we have seen him crush this number when that has been the case in the past.

The NBA Prop Pick: Tyrese Maxey OVER 4.5 Assists (-145)

NBA Player Prop Predictions 2: D’Angelo Russell OVER 1.5 Turnovers (-150)

Los Angeles Lakers point guard D’Angelo Russell scored 11 points with 4 rebounds and a team high 7 assists on 33.3% shooting from the field in his first game of the season.

Russell also committed a team high three turnovers as the Lakers primary ball handler. Last season, Russell committed 2+ turnovers in 65 of 88 games for a staggering 74% success rate.

The Phoenix Suns forced three Klay Thompson turnovers and two Steph Curry turnovers in their first game of the season.

There is also talk of Lebron James playing with w minutes restriction tonight, which will set up Russell for even more minutes with the ball in his hands.

This play admittedly has some serious juice attached to it, but a turnover total of 1.5 is a ridiculously low number when Russell is the primary ballhandler based on how erratic he can be.
