NBA Player Prop Predictions 1: Jordan Poole

Newly acquired Washington Wizards shooting guard Jordan Poole finished his last regular season in Golden State with 20.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 43% from the field.

Poole also averaged a career-high 3.1 turnovers per game as he found himself with the ball in hands more than ever.

Last season, in the 26 games without Steph Curry on the floor, Poole committed 3+ turnovers 21 times while averaging 4.1 turnovers per 36 minutes on the floor.

Poole usage was sky high during the preseason and that will surely continue in the regular season. The Indiana Pacers also ranked 7th in forced turnovers last season and Poole cleared this total with 3 & 4 turnovers in games WITH Curry on the court.

We should see an up-tempo game considering that the total is sitting at 235 and the Pacers have plenty of young active guards.

This play is admittedly juicy but considering Poole’s track record of recording 3+ turnovers it’s completely worthy of a small play or parlay piece.

The NBA Prop Pick: Jordan Poole OVER 2.5 Turnovers (-166)

NBA Player Prop Predictions 2: Bennedict Mathurin OVER 14.5 Points (-120)

Indiana Pacers shooting guard Bennedict Mathurin finished his rookie campaign with an average of 16.7 points, 4.1 Rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 43.4% from the field.

Mathurin cleared this line in 52 of 78 games last season for a 67% success rate including 3 of 4 games against the Washington Wizards with 19, 11, 18 and 16 points.

The Wizards are a very front-court heavy team, but Jordan Poole and Tyus Jones will be a great matchup for Mathurin in the season opener.

Mathurin will be in the starting five with Tyrese Haliburton, Bruce Brown, Obi Toppin and Myles Turner which sets him up to be a real scoring threat.

He will need to play just under 26 minutes to hit this line and Mathurin did that in 12 of his 17 starts as a rookie for a 70% success rate. This is a nice manageable point total over on an opening night with plenty of question marks.
