Portland Trail Blazers vs Milwaukee Bucks Betting Analysis

The Milwaukee Bucks visit the Moda Center on Monday night for an interconference showdown with the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Trail Blazers watched a three game winning streak fall by the wayside in a 129-121 loss in Chicago on Saturday night. The Bucks won their 7th straight game 123-115 at home over the Miami Heat.

This will be the second and final regular season meeting between these teams, Milwaukee prevailed 119-111 at home against Portland on November 21st. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 PM EST/7:00 PST on NBA TV.

Buck Stops Here

The Milwaukee Bucks upped their record to 36-17 on the season after an impressive 7th straight victory over the Heat on Saturday.

Milwaukee had tremendous advantage from beyond the arc as they shot 14-40 for 35% while Miami shot only 8-31 for 25.8%. Giannis Antetokounmpo led all scorers with a 35 point triple-double along with 15 rebounds and 11 assists.

Khris Middleton added 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists off the bench while Grayson Allen chipped in with 19 points.

The Bucks currently occupy 2nd place in the Eastern Conference, only one game behind the first place Celtics. Milwaukee actually ranks below average in scoring at 18th with 114.3 points a game on 46.1% from the floor.

Defense has been their calling card as they sit at 2nd in defensive rating and 5th in defensive scoring with only 111.8 points allowed per game.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as probable for this contest with a knee issue while Bobby Portis remains out for another year few weeks.

Blazers Missing Their Big

The Portland Trailblazers dipped below .500 on the season at 26-27 after losing in Chicago on Saturday night. The Bulls dominated the glass with a 41-33 rebounding edge.

Dame Lillard led all scorers with 40 points on 12-21 from the field, 5-12 from three-point land and 11-11 from the charity stripe.

Anfernee Simons backed him up with 27 points while Josh Hart recorded a 13 point, 12 rebound double-double. The Blazers currently occupy the 11th seed in the Western Conference, only a half game away from a spot in the play-in tournament.

Portland ranks 13th in scoring with 114.6 points a game on 48.3% from the field. They sit at 25th in defensive rating and 16th in defensive scoring with 114 points allowed per game.

Jusuf Nurkic will be out until after the All-Star break after an MRI revealed a calf strain while Drew Eubanks and Gary Payton II are both listed as questionable.

Portland Trail Blazers vs Milwaukee Bucks Player Prop Prediction

The Milwaukee Bucks enter this contest as 4 point road favorites with a high total set at 242.5. Both sides are in great form with Milwaukee winning seven straight and Portland winning five of their last seven games.

It should also be an exciting game with two of the NBAs top scorers going head-to-head in a game that features the highest total on the board tonight. Jerami Grant will be tasked with guarding Giannis Antetokounmpo so he could easily wind up in foul trouble.

Grant’s point total is set at 19.5 tonight and his production has taken a recent dip, falling short of this mark in 11 of his last 16 games. He scored only 18 points against the Bucks in November when he was in great form.

The Bucks defense ranks 2nd in overall power forward defense while allowing the 6th least points and 3rd least free throws in general. This game will be high scoring but Lillard & Simmons have no problem scoring the majority of those points.

Grant will struggle to score in a crowded interior with Giannis and Lopez patrolling the paint. Let’s go under on Grant’s points tonight.
