Sacramento Kings vs Memphis Grizzlies Predictions

The Memphis Grizzlies take a trip to Sacramento for a Friday night showdown against the Kings at the Golden 1 Center. The Grizz are fourth in West with an 18-11 record after a road victory over the Portland Trailblazers on Wednesday night. The 12-17 Kings sit at 10th in the West and are coming off a 119-105 home win over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night. This will be the second of three meetings between these teams on the season.

What the Memphis Grizzlies have done since Ja Morant suffered an injury is nothing short of amazing. Ironically, the first full game without Morant was a 128-101 destruction of tonight’s opponent the Sacramento Kings. This kicked off a tremendous 9-1 run, including four straight wins. To put things into perspective Memphis was under .500 at 9-10 with their superstar Ja Morant. Their last game was a 113-103 road victory over the Portland Trailblazers.

With Ja Morant out of the picture, their leading scorer is Dillon Brooks with just over 18 points a game. Steven Adams is the teams leading rebounder with 8.6 a game. Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr have been major contributors as they both average over 16 points a game. The Grizzlies have the 7th best offense in the league as they average just over 111 points per game. While their defense ranks 19th allowing 109 points a game to their rivals.

It seems like it’s impossible to write an article this week without the mention of a Covid issue. So…the Sacramento Kings shut down their practice facility Thursday due to a possible Covid-19 outbreak that could impact Friday nights game. It’s unclear how many players have entered protocols at this point. It started with interim head coach Alvin Gentry testing positive for the virus on Wednesday. Marvin Bagley III and Terrance Davis missed Wednesdays game and now it’s reported that De’Aaron Fox, Louis King and Alex Len have entered protocol as well. Richaun Holmes is also out with an eye injury.

But anyway…. The Kings have the 5th ranked offense in the league scoring 111 points a game. They have had major issues on defense, as they rank 29th allowing 114 points per game.

The Kings were able get a win against the Wizards with a limited roster. However it’s going to be much harder to beat this Grizzlies team, especially without their best player in De’Aaron Fox. The Grizz have been on fire and are 8-2-1 against the spread in their last 11 games. Sacramento is 7-13 ATS in their last 20 games. It’s seemingly unclear exactly who will be available for Sacramento on Friday night. However this offers an amazing opportunity to take advantage of the books.

Sacramento Kings vs Memphis Grizzlies Analysis from The GoldSheet

Sacramento arrested its mini-slide U and against the number with a win-and-cover effort against Washington on Thursday. The Kings have played very competitively against the Grizzlies the last few seasons, covering 7 of the last 10 series meetings, and winning and covering 4 of the last 5 hosting the Kings. Still, Memphis has been on fire (en fuego!), winning and covering 8 of its last 10 against all comers, and the Grizzlies have beaten the last 4 playoff teams they’ve met on the road and have been on a bit of an under kick (5-2 L 7 went under the total).
