Sacramento Kings vs Minnesota Timberwolves Betting Analysis
The Sacramento Kings will host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night for a Western Conference showdown.
The Timberwolves won their third straight game 99-96 on the road against the Golden State Warriors last night. The Kings won their second straight game 121-113 over the Utah Jazz on Saturday night.
This will be the fourth and final game in a regular season series that Minnesota leads 2-1 after winning 138-134 in Sacramento on March 4th. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 PM EST/7:00 PST from the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.
Timberwolves Warming Up
The Minnesota Timberwolves moved a game above .500 at 38-37 after beating Golden State on Sunday. The Timberwolves dominated the glass with a 49-37 rebounding edge.
Naz Reid led his team in scoring with 23 points off the bench along with 6 rebounds. Karl-Anthony Towns scored 14 points in 32 minutes while Kyle Anderson recorded a 12 point, 10 rebound double-double off the bench.
Minnesota currently occupies the 7th seed in the Western Conference, only a half game behind the Golden State Warriors for the all important six seed. The Twolves rank 11th in scoring with 115.8 points a game on 49.1% from the field.
They also sit at 11th in defensive rating and 18th in defensive scoring with 116.1 points allowed per game. Minnesota sports a clean injury report, a breath of fresh air nowadays.
King Me
The Sacramento improved to 45-29 on the season after winning their second straight game over Utah. Free throws may have been the difference as Sacramento shot 17-21 for 81% while Utah shot only 10-16 for 62.5%.
Kevin Huerter led his team in scoring with 27 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Domantas Sabonis recorded a 16 point, 15 rebound double-double while Keegan Murray added 22 points.
The Kings seem to be locked into the three seed in the Western Conference as they sit two games behind the Memphis Grizzlies and 6 games ahead of the fourth seeded Phoenix Suns. Sacramento leads the NBA in scoring with an average of 121.1 points a game on 49.7% shooting.
Defense has been a struggle as they sit 25th in defensive rating and 26th in defensive scoring with 118.5 points allowed per game. De’Aaron Fox is the only player listed on the injury report and he is questionable with a hamstring injury.
Sacramento Kings vs Minnesota Timberwolves Expert Prediction
The Sacramento Kings enter this contest as 4 point home favorites with a total of 239. Every Timberwolves game will be critical to their playoff seeding down the stretch while Kings may have settled into the three seed.
Both sides are playing well but it’s obviously more important for the Twolves to win. They showed heart with victory last night over the Warriors and will carry that momentum into Sacramento tonight.
It is a back-to-back situation but Minnesota is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 games without rest. De’Aaron Fox is questionable due to a hamstring injury and there is no reason for Sacramento to push him.
The return of Karl-Anthony Towns was a huge boost for the Timberwolves as they have won three straight since his return. Wait to the official ruling on KAT and if he’s active I’d make on small play on the Wolves with the points.
Prediction: Minnesota Timberwolves +4 -110 Draftkings (confirm that Towns is active)
