Timberwolves vs Raptors Analysis

Both the Timberwolves and Raptors will play their last game before the All-Star break and we’ll take a look at some props for this game to see if we can get some profits out of these two teams. The Wolves are playing a back to back after a thrilling overtime game against Charlotte while the Raptors are rested, but are coming off of two straight losses where their scoring dropped. Let’s take a look at the numbers.

TIMBERWOLVES vs RAPTORS TEAM TOTALS

The books have each team at a total of 114.5, and it’s easy to jump to the conclusion that this game will be high scoring, but Toronto has struggled to score the last two games shooting 30.5% against New Orleans, and only having 109 against Denver after going for 116 or more in five straight games.

Minnesota has been putting up points, but their 126 point performance last night was a bit deceiving as 18 of those points were in overtime. I’m going to take Minnesota under their team total as last night’s game was probably a bit draining for them and they couldn’t get over their team total in regulation. Anthony Edwards probably won’t play tonight and he’s a big source of their points.

Favorite Play: Timberwolves UNDER 114.5 Points

TIMBERWOLVES vs RAPTORS PLAYER PROPS

D’Angelo Russell went over his PRA, and he’s always been a favorite play of mine and I’ll play him again today over his PRA as he’s hit in three out of four games. Toronto is solid in defending the perimeter, but without Edwards, Russell should see extra production.

Towns flew over his total last night, but that was against Charlotte who is a bottom three team defending centers. Toronto is much better and Towns had scored less than 25 points in five out of seven games prior to this. I’ll take his under 24.5 points tonight.

My favorite play tonight is Pascal Siakam over 23.5 points. He had a bad shooting night last game, but had gone over this total in seven straight before that.

Favorite Play: Pascal Siakam OVER 23.5 Points

Timberwolves vs Raptors Preview from GoldSheet

Minnesota won but was forced to OT and couldn’t quite cover the number at home last night against a slumping Charlotte team in a 126-120 victory. The real worry for HC Chris Finch and Karl-Anthony Towns is that they might’ve caught an injury as F Anthony Edwards had to leave the game with an ankle issue. He’ll likely be held out against the Raptors in this one with the all-star week of rest coming up.

On the Toronto side, G Fred VanVleet was forced out of Monday’s setback against New Orleans with a knee injury, and is iffy for this one as well, but the Raptors are 17-8 straight-up last 25 and 24-9-1 against the points in their last 34 games overall despite losing the last two.

Raptors have bounced back pretty well off a loss in the last few months going 9-2 vs. the number coming off their last 11 losses. Minnesota is just 3-5 this year when unrested and probably will be missing a key cog out with Edwards’ ankle sprain.
