Toronto Raptors vs Atlanta Hawks Analysis

The Atlanta Hawks head north of the border to Toronto for an Eastern Conference clash with the Raptors had a five game winning streak snapped in a 114-109 loss against the Miami Heat.

The Raptors had a five game winning streak snapped by the Miami Heat on Sunday 114-109. Meanwhile Atlanta defeated the Brooklyn Nets 122-115 on Saturday for their fifth consecutive victory.

The Hawks look to split a four game regular season series after the Raptors took two of the first three head-to-head meetings.

Hawks Flying High After Fifth Straight Victory

The Atlanta Hawks head into Toronto in search of a sixth straight victory after beating the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday. Trae Young was the Hawks leading scorer with 36 points.

The Hawks picked up the victory despite Kevin Durant scoring 55 points for the Nets. The Hawks are locked in the play-in tournament with only seeding needing to be determined.

At 41-37 they occupy the 8th seed, sitting 1.5 games behind the seventh place Cleveland Cavaliers. John Collins remains out with an injury while Bogdan Bogdanovic and Danilo Gallinari are both questionable.

Atlanta has done it with offense as they rank 6th in scoring with over 113 points per game. The offense makes up for a defense that ranks 22nd with over 112 points allowed a game to their opponents.

Raptors Hope to Avoid Play-In

The Toronto Raptors watched a five game winning streak be snapped by the Miami Heat in their last game.

Pascal Siakam led his team with 29 points in the loss, but the Raps only shot 42% as a team. Toronto sits at sixth place in the Eastern Conference, tied with the Chicago Bulls and 2.5 games ahead of the 7th place Cleveland Cavaliers.

A win by the Raps combined with a Cavs loss would guarantee the all important six-seed. OG Anunoby and Yuta Watanabe are both listed as questionable for tonight’s contest.

Defense has been the calling card for the Raptors who rank 8th holding opponents to only 106.9 points allowed to their rivals. They only score 109.3 points per game which ranks them 19th in scoring.

Toronto Raptors vs Atlanta Hawks Prediction

The Toronto Raptors are favored by 4 points with a total of 226.5. These are currently two of the hottest teams in the Eastern Conference, one on a five game winning streak, the other just coming off of one.

The Raptors have won two of three head-to-head meetings, dominating in the home game with a 125-114 victory. The Raptors have played well as a favorite, covering 10 of their last 14 games when tagged as chalk.

Meanwhile Atlanta has played poorly on the road, as they have failed to cover the spread in 13 of their last 18 road games. The Hawks are also without their #2 scorer in John Collins and Raptors play superior defense. Looks like we roll with the Raptors as a small favorite of only four points.

Prediction: Toronto Raptors -4
