Arizona Cardinals vs LA Rams Predictions
- Arizona Cardinals -2.5 vs LA Rams
- Total: 50.5 Points
- The Rams have won eight of the last nine meetings between these teams, with Arizona’s lone win coming earlier this season.
Are you ready for some football? A Monday night divisional showdown between the 8-4 Los Angeles Rams and 10-2 Arizona Cardinals. Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins returned from injury last Sunday and made quick work of the Chicago Bears with a final score of 33-22. The Los Angeles Rams are coming off a blowout win of their own, as they smoked the Jacksonville Jaguars 37-7. The Cardinals crushed the Rams 37-20 in their first meeting back in Week 4. It’s possible these teams could see each other for qa third time as both should be integral part of the NFC playoff picture.
The Arizona Cardinals are undefeated through four division games and hold a one game lead over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the best record in the league. Kyler Murray only needed to attempt 15 passes, but threw two touchdown passes in a runaway victory over Chicago. It’s no surprise that touchdown machine James Connor found the end zone again last week, giving him 14 touchdowns on the season. Connor scored two of those touchdowns the last time he faced the Rams.
The Cardinals’ defense has been top notch so far this season as they rank 5th in yards allowed with 318.8 and 4th in points allowed with 18.7. Arizona has done an amazing job shutting down the opposing teams #1 wide receiver on a weekly basis. They were even able to put the clamps on the leagues #1 receiver in Cooper Kupp, as they held him to only 64 yards in their first meeting. That was easily Kupp’s worst performance as he’s recorded over 90 yards in every other game so far this season. Ultimately the Cardinals control their own destiny, a win here would be another step towards earning a first round bye.
The Rams snapped a three game losing streak with a convincing win against the pathetic Jacksonville Jaguars. The Rams scored in every quarter and Matthew Stafford finished with 295 passing yards and 3 touchdowns. Sony Michel did an amazing job filling in for Darrell Henderson as he ran for 121 yards on 24 carries while also scoring a touchdown. Darrell Henderson is a question mark again this week against the Cardinals.
The Rams have a star studded defense that has underperformed so far this season. They have been stout against the run as they only allow just over 100 yards a game. However they are below average against the pass as they allow just over 238 yards a game.
The Cardinals are favored by 2 points and the total is set at 51. The Rams are 1-5 against the spread in their last 6 games while the Cards are 8-2 in their last 10. There really isn’t much to take away from these teams over/under ATS records as both are around.500. However these teams combined for 57 points in their first meeting. The Rams have scored 28 or more in the past two games while the Cardinals have scored 21 or more in 6 of their last 7 games. Murray and Hopkins are both healthy and the Rams defense is lackluster against the pass. I’m expecting a high scoring affair on Monday night so we are going to make a play on the over.
There is no reason to think James Connor won’t score another touchdown in this game as he’s scored in 9 of 12 games so far this season. Last week the price on a Connor TD was -150 against the Bears and I would expect something similar here. We will roll with a Connor touchdown again in this one.
Official Play: OVER 50.5
Official Player Prop: James Connor anytime TD -150

Arizona Cardinals vs LA Rams from The GoldSheet
The Rams need to win this game to maintain any realistic shot at the division title, as a loss would effectively put them four games behind Arizona (which would have swept the season series) with four games to go, and Sean McVay still has trips to Baltimore and Minnesota remaining, plus hosting a 49ers team he hasn’t beaten in three years. True, both Cards losses (SU to Pack and Panthers) and all three spread Ls (including vs. the Vikings way back in Week 2) have come at State Farm Stadium, and note that until the 37-20 win in LA on Oct. 3, the Cards had lost 8 straight against the Rams, covering just one of those encounters. But must note that LA was also shaky early against the lowly Jags, taking a couple of first Q injuries in the offensive line and stopped for 3 FGs in the first half before pitching a 21-0 shutout after halftime. The Rams also had problems last week rushing the passer (only sacked Trevor Lawrence twice) and with penalties, one of which was a taunting call that led directly to J’ville’s only score. Arizona much more together as a unit right now as the NFC West baton is about to be passed to the Big Red.
