First Touchdown Scorer Prop Picks For Sunday NFL Week 3

First TD Scorer Prop Pick 1: Hunter Henry (+1000 or better projected line)

New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry is off to a great start in 2023 with 11 receptions on 13 targets for 108 yards and two touchdowns.

Henry has scored in both games but neither touchdown was the first of the game. However, Dallas Cowboys second year tight end Jake Ferguson hit paydirt first on a four-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter of last week’s game against the New York Jets.

Backup Cowboys tight end Luke Schoonmaker also scored a touchdown in the second quarter of that game. The Jets definitely have an elite defense but that wasn’t the first time we have seen tight ends have success against them this season.

In Week 1, Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid caught four passes for 26 yards while his teammate Dawson Knox caught three passes for 25 yards. While those numbers don’t jump off the page, the Jets have now allowed the 7th most fantasy points to opposing tight ends.

I fully expect the first touchdown to come from the Patriots side based on Zach Wilsons three interception performance against the Dallas Cowboys and his struggles against Bill Belichick.

Henry’s first touchdown price was set at +1300 last week prior to scoring again on Sunday. We should expect a slightly lower number based on Henry scoring again and the lack of opposing offensive weapons in this game.

However, Henry has quickly become Mac Jones favorite target and with the projected odds set at +1000 he is worth a sprinkle against the Jets.

First NFL TD Scorer Prop Prediction 2: Tyreek Hill (+600)

It’s been business as usual for Miami Dolphins speedy wide receiver Tyreek Hill as he has recorded 16 receptions on 24 targets for 255 yards and three touchdowns.

Hill also scored seven touchdowns in his first season with the Dolphins but hasn’t hit paydirt first since arriving in Miami.

That could change quickly this week as he faces a Denver Broncos defense that has already allowed three touchdowns to the wide receiver position in 2023.

Vegas Raiders receiver Jakobi Meyers caught two touchdowns in Week 1, one being the game’s first touchdown on a three-yard reception at the 9:28 mark.

The Washington Commanders also found success against Denver through the air as wide receiver Terry McLaurin and tight end Logan Thomas both found the end zone.

Hill’s counterpart at wide receiver Jaylen Waddle is currently progressing through concussion protocol but there is no guarantee he plays Sunday which could lead to additional looks for the “Cheetah”.

Russell Wilson and the Broncos offense have definitely improved but they are nowhere near as explosive as the Dolphins. This spot seems like as good as any for Hill to score his first “first touchdown” as a Dolphin.
