NFL Week 1 Team Total Prediction: Chicago Bears UNDER 24.5 (-120) DK

This sets up to be a messy offensive game on both sides as they install new offensive coordinators. All eyes will be on the #1 pick in the 2024 draft, Caleb Williams but I think we see him struggle out of the gate.

The Tennessee Titans have a new defensive coordinator in Dennard Wilson who plans on dialing up the intensity for their bolstered defense compared to last season.

It starts with the addition of two elite cornerbacks who were #1’s on their respective teams last season in L’Jarius Sneed and Chidobe Awuzie.

Suddenly this defenses weakness becomes a strength, making it unlikely Williams lights them up through the air in Week 1. On top of that, the Titans defensive line is extremely strong, as Arden Key and Harold Landry III who combined for 16.5 sacks last season.

The Bears have added weapons in veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen & running back D’Andre Swift along with the #9 draft pick in wide receiver Rome Odunze.

However, it’s going to take time for them to gel under Shane Waldron’s new scheme, making 25+ points a lofty expectation.

NFL Week 1 Team Total Prediction: Detroit Lions OVER 26.5 (-130) DK

This Sunday Night Football showdown has the highest total on the Week 1 slate and rightfully so as both teams have high octane offenses that will be highly motivated.

The Detroit Lions offense is loaded, starting with Jared Goff who ranked as a top 10 quarterback during the past two seasons, and he will be protected by the #1 offensive line in the NFL according to Pro Football Network.

They have a two headed monster at running back in David Montgomery & Jahmyr Gibbs, an elite wide receiver in Amon-Ra St Brown and sophomore sensation at tight end in Sam LaPorta.

The Lions are a tailor-made over team, especially on the fast track at Ford Field where they finished 7-3 to the over/under in 2023 and 17-10 since 2021 (63%).

Detroit managed to score 24 against the Los Angeles in a Wild Card game in January and the Rams defense has taken a significant step back with the losses of Aaron Donald and Ernest Jones.

The Rams have the offensive capabilities to push Goff into keeping his foot on the gas pedal against his former team and clearing this admittedly high number.
