NFL Week 1 Receiving Props Prediction: Mike Evans, Buccaneers OVER 67.5 Receiving Yards (-115) FanDuel
The Washington Commanders were dead last in the NFL last season in passing yards given up as they’re set to play at Tampa Bay to open up the 2024 NFL regular season.
Temps are set to be in the 90s which could tire out the Washington secondary as veteran Mike Evans should look to take advantage.
His receiving yards number is set around 67.5 in which he surpassed this number in nine games last season including playoffs and averaged 76 receiving yards per game.
Baker Mayfield is in his second year at the helm for the Buccaneers after re-signing this offseason and should even have more of a bond with the #1 receiving option on Tampa Bay.
Evans accumulated 65% of his total receiving yards in the regular season during home games while averaging 18.7 YPC at Raymond James Stadium as well.
Should he hold that average in the first game against the Commanders, he’ll only need four catches to surpass 67.5 receiving yards on Sunday. Take Evans to come out of the gates strong and get up and over 67.5 receiving yards against Washington.
NFL Week 1 Receiving Props Prediction: Christian Kirk, Jaguars OVER 57.5 Receiving Yards (-115) FanDuel
The Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver depth chart looks slightly different compared to last season with the departure of Calvin Ridley and Zay Jones leaving Christian Kirk as the most tenured Jaguars receiver heading into this season.
Kirk’s receiving number is set at 57.5. Although he wasn’t the first option in Jacksonville last season, he still surpassed this number in six of 12 total games played while seeing seven targets per game.
He should see that same amount of targets, if not more as new comers Gabe Davis and Brian Thomas Jr. may need a game or two to get acclimated to the offense.
The Dolphins secondary was middle of the pack last season giving up 221 passing yards per game. The last time these two met in 2021 Trevor Lawrence had 319 passing yards and #1 receiving option then Marvin Jones Jr. had seven catches for 100 yards. Although we don’t see Kirk generating that many yards, we have the feeling this could be a shootout.
It’s also worth noting that in 2022 when Kirk played every game and was the #1 option before Ridley, he notched 65 receiving yards per game and 1,108 receiving yards on the season at 13.2 yards per catch. Take Kirk to get up and over 57.5 receiving yards against the Dolphins on Sunday.
