NFL Week 1 Rushing Props Prediction: Jonathan Taylor OVER 74.5 Rushing Yards (-115 FanDuel)

Jonathan Taylor played just ten games last season due to injury but he’s healthy and ready to go starting the 2024 NFL season as the Colts host the Texans for Week 1.

Indianapolis actually closed out last regular season hosting Houston coincidentally enough in which Taylor accumulated 188 rushing yards on 30 carries which were both season highs.

2022 was a similar story with Taylor only facing the Texans once which ended in a 31 carry 161 rushing yard performance.

As you can tell, Taylor loves taking on the Texans and more holes should open up at the line with Anthony Richardson back at the helm.

Taylor’s rushing yards number is listed around 74.5 and unlike in years past when Taylor had to share carries with Zach Moss, Nyheim Hines, Taylor should see almost all carries as only Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson sit behind him in the depth char who have minimal NFL experience.

Take Taylor to come out of the gates strong against a familiar opponent and go over 74.5 rushing yards on Sunday.

NFL Week 1 Rushing Props Prediction: James Cook OVER 63.5 Yards (-115, FanDuel)

The Cardinals ended last season with the worst rushing defense in the NFL allowing 143 yards per game on the ground as they travel cross-country to take on the Bills in Week 1.

This poses as a great opportunity for James Cook to go up and over 63.5 rushing yards as he should see more opportunities out of the backfield this season in general.

Cook averaged 66 rushing yards per game last season on 4.7 yards per carry and if the Bills are holding onto some sort of lead in the 4th quarter, he could be leaned on to tote the ball 15-20 times.

At minimum, Cook should hit his 14 attempts/game and 4.7 ypc mark from last season on Sunday and should he succeed at both, he’ll get over 63.5 rushing yards.

We’re expecting more than that from Cook though so take him to go over his NFL rushing props number against a feeble Arizona rushing defense.
