Chicago Bears vs Baltimore Ravens Predictions
- Chicago Bears +5 vs Baltimore Ravens
- Total: 44.5 Points
- Baltimore has failed to cover the spread in four of its last five road games.
- The under is 7-3 in Chicago’s last ten games.
Chicago has dropped four straight games and look to have no shot at reaching the playoffs for the third time in four years, but it has to have popped in the game tape of the Ravens’ most recent performance and felt a little better. Perhaps all isn’t lost.
Baltimore suffered a stunning upset in Miami to open Week 10 action last Thursday night, getting shut down by a defense that has been all over the place this season. The Bears are in the same boat. In their three wins, they’ve allowed an average of 13.3 points. In its six losses, Chicago has surrendered an average of 30.7. Even though the schedule ahead features games against Arizona, Green Bay, Minnesota (twice) and Seattle, if the Bears can pull of a home upset of the Ravens and then take care of business on Thanksgiving against the Lions, they would suddenly be in the mix for a final postseason berth.
Chicago is coming off a bye after notching a backdoor cover at Pittsburgh on Nov. 8, increasing the likelihood that LB Khalil Mack and safety Eddie Jackson will be able to return from injuries that sidelined them against the Steelers. Their availability to help deal with the unique creature that is Lamar Jackson is a must if the Bears are going to be smiling after this one. Mack (foot) and E. Jackson (hamstring) are both trending towards being ready to play, so they’ll be riding some adrenaline in squaring off against the Ravens star QB for the first time. The last time these teams met, Joe Flacco started for Baltimore and threw a pair of interceptions in being outplayed by Mitchell Trubisky. On paper, Lamar Jackson vs. Justin Fields is far more attractive.
Expect the Ravens will be well-rested and angry as they invade Soldier Field. Despite trying to feed Marquise “Hollywood” Brown early and often, Baltimore’s MVP candidate struggled in his native South Florida. The 10 points Baltimore managed to put on the board snapped a run of 53 consecutive contests scoring at least 14 points, which was the second-longest such streak since 1940.
“Hats off to the Dolphins,” John Harbaugh said. “They played a very good football game. Outcoached us, outplayed us.”
Everything went wrong for the Ravens, including L. Jackson throwing his first red-zone interception of his career, a span of 55 games. It’s not expected to be windy or bitterly cold in Chicago on Sunday, setting the stage for a great bounce-back spot if Mack and E. Jackson can’t suit up. Monitor practices and the injury report late in the week for definitive word on the Bears defensive standouts.
Chicago leads only winless Detroit in the NFC North. Fields has had some nice moments since being thrown into the fire as a rookie starter but has been victimized by accuracy issues and bad play-calling. He’ll have to use his legs more if the Bears are going to keep pace with the Ravens’ Jackson. Even if he’s just buying time for a Darnell Mooney and Allen Robinson, Fields has to start producing more chunk plays like he was able to in nearly pulling off an upset in Pittsburgh on the Monday night stage on Nov. 8.
Fields threw for a career-high 291 yards last time out and did the most of his damage in leading the Bears back from a fourth-quarter deficit. The Bears hadn’t thrown for even 200 yards in a single game over their first eight contests, something that hadn’t been done in over a dozen years (Titans, ’08). Getting David Montgomery going after his return from injury is also a must. He picked up 80 yards on 15 touches against the Steelers.
The spread here is hovering around six and may dip if Mack and Jackson are counted in. Wait for it to come down under that key number and load up on the Ravens to emphatically bounce back.

Chicago Bears vs Baltimore Ravens Analysis from The GoldSheet
The Ravens will be well-rested and angry as they invade Soldier Field. Everything went wrong for Baltimore in Miami last week. With rookie Rashod Bateman beginning to assert himself and Marquise Brown drawing heavy targets, the Ravens hope Jackson will take another step forward in the passing game. Seeing the Bears excel against rival Pittsburgh should serve to get the Ravens’ juices flowing, particularly after such an ugly loss.
