Eagles vs Jets Prop Pick 1: Philadelphia Eagles Team Total

The undefeated Philadelphia Eagles have scored 23 points or more in each of their five victories, scoring 23 last week against the Rams after a cross-country flight to Los Angeles.

Now they take a short trip to face a New York Jets team that just allowed the horrific offense of the Denver Broncos to score 21 points on Sunday.

The Jets talented defensive backfield has taken some hits as DJ Reed joined his backup Brandin Echols on the bench due to a concussion. Now the 2022 #4 overall draft pick and cornerback Sauce Gardner is dealing with a knee issue that took him out of the Jets most recent game, although he did return to action.

We could see the Jets play it safe with these players as their bye week is scheduled for Week 7 directly after this game.

Regardless which cornerbacks are active, the Jets defensive backfield will have their hands full dealing with Eagles dynamic wide receivers AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith as well as a mobile quarterback in Jalen Hurts.

Anytime Zach Wilson is behind center, the opposing defense will have opportunities to score themselves and Philadelphia has already forced 8 turnovers this season.

At the very least, the Eagles defense will put the offense in some short field situations to assist in the scoring.

I fully expected the Eagles team total to come out at 24.5 this week, so we will gladly take the over on a number that will only take three touchdowns and a field goal to clear.

Eagles vs Jets Prop Pick 1: Philadelphia Eagles Team Total OVER 23.5 (-125)

Eagles vs Jets Prop Pick 2: Dallas Goedert OVER 36.5 Receiving Yards (-135)

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert has caught 21 of his 28 targets for 205 yards and a touchdown thus far during the regular season.

He is coming off a 23-14 victory over the Los Angeles Rams where he set season highs in targets (9), receptions (8) and yards (117).

Goedert has a receiving total set at 36.5 and he has eclipsed that number in two of his last three games. The New York Jets pass defense has struggled against the tight end position, allowing the 9th most yards with a total of 289.

Just last week, Broncos tight end Adam Trautman set season highs with four receptions for 26 yards after only catching five passes for 34 yards in the prior four games.

In Week 4, Travis Kelce caught 6 passes for 60 yards in the same game Noah Gray caught a 34-yard touchdown pass a week after they allowed Patriots tight ends Hunter Henry, Mike Gesicki and Pharaoh Brown combined for 106 yards.

As mentioned above, members of the Jets pass defense has been grounded as DJ Reed & Brandin Echols have missed time and now Sauce Gardner is dealing with an injury.

Goedert has become more involved in this offense in recent weeks and Matthew Stafford was smart enough to look his way against a Rams defense that also struggles with tight ends.

Look for more of the same this as the Eagles wide-outs take the defensive attention away from Goedert.
