First TD Scorer Prop Prediction 1: Derrick Henry (+400) & Austin Ekeler (+450)
This a rare opportunity to bet two prolific first touchdown scorers in the same game with equal bets to guarantee tripling our money if one hits paydirt.
Derrick Henry fell short in Week 1 as we waited until the 3rd quarter for the New Orleans Saints Rashid Shaheed to score. However, no player scored more first touchdowns than Henry with his 9 during the 2022 campaign.
Meanwhile, Austin Ekeler wasted no time scoring the first touchdown against the Miami Dolphins despite the game being the highest scoring of the week with a 36-34 shootout.
This after recording 7 first touchdowns during the 2022 season. The Chargers allowed the 7th most rushing touchdowns to opposing running backs last season with 14.
The Titans were stout against the run with only 6 touchdowns allowed to opposing backs on the ground, but they were middle of the pack allowing three through the air.
Regardless, the likelihood of one of these two players scoring the first touchdown is very strong and at these odds we can afford a split-bet on both.
First TD Scorer Prop Prediction 2: Travis Kelce (+500)
Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce posted an insane stat line last season with 110 catches for 1.338 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.
Three of those 12 touchdowns were first TDs as he also recorded 3 touchdown and 4 touchdown games. Kelce was noticeably missing last week during the Chiefs opener and Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St Brown benefited by recording the game’s first touchdown.
When healthy, Kelce is a near auto-bet at these odds as three first TDs will break even. The Jacksonville Jaguars allowed the 8th most touchdowns to opposing tight ends last season with seven.
Last week, wide receiver Calvin Ridley crossed the goal line first for Jacksonville and no tight end scored a touchdown for the Indianapolis Colts. However, the Colts don’t have a tight end on their roster anywhere near the caliber of Kelce.
It would only be right for Patrick Mahomes to look Kelce’s way early and get him on the board as soon as possible. Take Kelce first TD anytime you can get +500 or better!
