First Touchdown Scorer Prop Prediction 1: Christian McCaffrey First TD (+450 or better projected odds) Travis Etienne First TD (+500 or better projected odds) *split bet on each

While Christian McCaffrey is considered to be a square play for first touchdown, he has to make your card based on several factors.

First off, McCaffrey is looking to set the NFL record for 18 straight games with a touchdown. He also is tied for the league lead with four first touchdowns and he has scored his team first touchdown five times including in the last three games straight.

However, the Jacksonville Jaguars are a formidable adversary in this category as both teams have scored first in 75% of their games respectively.

Travis Etienne leads the way in Jacksonville with three first touchdowns and they have all come in the Jags last three games.

Both players will have fresh legs as both teams come off their Week 9 byes. Admittedly, both teams play strong defense against opposing running backs, and they will without a doubt be the two favorites.

However, if we split a unit evenly between the two players, we still stand to gain up to two units. And based on their track records and McCaffrey’s pursuit of history I fully expect one to hit paydirt first.

First Touchdown Scorer Prop Prediction 2: Josh Jacobs First TD (+425) Jakobi Meyers First TD (+950) *split unit on each

Last week, we laid out the calculated plan of fading the New York Jets who have scored the least first touchdowns of any team in the league.

We made equal bets on what I considered to be the two most likely players to score first on the Los Angeles Chargers.

It was the most disparaging difference we have seen between two teams this season as the Chargers had scored first in 85.7% of their games while the Jets only accomplished this once (14.3%) and even that was against the New York Giants.

We made the logical choices of Austin Ekeler and Keenan Allen as both had already scored first twice this season and we were off and running. Until Derius Davis took the second of punt of the game to the house for 87 yards and broke our hearts.

Of course, that was immediately followed up by an Austin Ekeler one-yard touchdown run to rub salt in our wounds. The best laid plans of mice and men. However, we will gladly go back to well in Week 10 as the Vegas Raiders have scored first in 7 of 9 games (77.8%) and the Jets are down to an NFL worst 12.5%.

Like McCaffrey, Jakobi Meyers is tied for the league lead in first TDs with four including five team first touchdowns.

So, he makes the bet slip at +950. Josh Jacobs looked to be rejuvenated under the new regime last week with 26 carries for 98 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Jacobs also recorded a first touchdown in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions, add him to the slip at +425.

The Jets do have a great defense, but their inability to score make them a weekly target for first touchdowns from the opposition.

Splitting our bet equally between Meyers and Jacobs is again a nearly flawless plan outside one of their teammates pulling the rug out from under us. Don’t think about it Davante!
