First Touchdown Scorer Prop Prediction 1: Gus Edwards, Ravens First Touchdown (+700) DK

We backed Gus Edwards and the Baltimore Ravens for first touchdown last week as the Ravens led the NFL in first touchdowns (scored first in all but 3 games) with Edwards leading the way with four.

The Ravens went off script as Nelson Agholor scored first but I’ll gladly go right back to Edwards with +700 odds.

Edwards recorded 13 touchdowns during the regular season while running for 810 yards as the lead back for the majority of the season.

Lamar Jackson is the only player with shorter odds than Edwards despite not scoring first since Week 7, but he did score twice last week.

The Kansas City Chiefs only scored first in 13 of their 19 games on the season and Travis Kelce still hasn’t scored first yet this season after being a league leader last season.

The Ravens are also favored by 3.5 in a home game which gives them an edge in scoring first and Edwards is the go-to guy in the red area.

First Touchdown Scorer Prop Prediction 2: Christian McCaffrey, 49ers First Touchdown (+300) DK, Brandon Aiyuk, 49ers First Touchdown (+650) DK (split bet 1/2 unit on each)

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey finished the 2023-24 campaign with 2,023 all-purpose yards while tying the Miami Dolphins Raheem Mostert with 21 all-purpose touchdowns on the season.

McCaffrey led the 49ers with seven team first touchdowns and four of those were game firsts. Brandon Aiyuk recorded 75 receptions for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns during the regular season and three of those were first touchdowns.

The 49ers scored first in 14 of 18 games on the season for a 77.8% success rate and McCaffrey & Aiyuk accounted for 7 of those. Fellow wide receiver Deebo Samuel is questionable with a shoulder injury so severe they thought it may have been fractured.

The 49ers are playing at home as 7-point favorites, so they have the edge in scoring first. George Kittle scored first last week but the Ravens have only allowed three tight end touchdowns all season long, so I’ll split my bet between McCaffrey and Aiyuk while Samuel is questionable.
