Miami Dolphins vs Buffalo Bills Preview
The Dolphins upped their record to 2-0 after beating the Baltimore Ravens 42-38 while the Bills also improved to 2-0 with a 41-7 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football. The winner of this game will take sole possession of first place in the AFC East.
Bills Look Elite
The Buffalo Bills entered the season as Super Bowl favorites and have been dominant in all phases of the game thus far. The Bills haven’t broken a sweat, beating the Los Angeles Rams 31-10 on opening night and the Tennessee Titans 41-7 on Monday Night Football.
Early MVP favorite Josh Allen has thrown for 614 yards and seven touchdowns to go along with 66 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Stefon Diggs has been the team’s top receiver with 270 yards and four touchdowns. They had to lean on Diggs more in Week 2 with Gabe Davis on the shelf due to injury.
The Bills have their share of injury concerns as Davis remains questionable along with tight end Dawson Knox and safeties Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde. Star cornerback Tre’Davious White continues to be out with a knee injury. The Buffalo defense has been overshadowed by the offense, but they have been remarkable with only 8.5 points allowed per game.
The Dolphins Just Scored Another Touchdown
The Miami Dolphins have jumped out to a 2-0 record after beating the New England Patriots 20-7 in Week 1 and storming back against the Baltimore Ravens for a 42-38 come from behind victory in Week 2. The offense has carried the team with 31 points per game, including the 28 points they scored in the fourth quarter last week against the Baltimore Ravens.
Young quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has shined with 739 passing yards and seven touchdowns. This team has two top wide outs with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, who have combined for 524 receiving yards and five touchdowns. These two wide receivers have been flying over their player prop totals in almost any category imaginable.
The ‘Fins ground game is only averaging 75.5 yards a game so they could use more production from Chase Edmonds and Raheem Mostert.
The defense has given up 22.5 points a game, mostly based on the 38 points they gave up to the Ravens last week. They have struggled to rush the passer with only two sacks but they still have one of the best shutdown corners in the league in Xavien Howard.
Miami Dolphins vs Buffalo Bills Best Bet
I’m fully expecting a shootout here based on what we have seen from these two offenses thus far, so I’m eyeing player prop overs from quarterbacks and wide receivers. My initial thought was to look at reception total over for one of the talented Miami wide outs, but those numbers aren’t out yet so we’ll pivot to yards.
It goes without saying that Stefon Diggs has been outstanding with yardage totals 122 and 148 through two games. His yardage total is set at only 80.5 this week, but Xavien Howard & Co. may have something to say about that. Diggs has played the Dolphins four times as a Bill and fell short of that number in his last three. The Bills will still score plenty of points which will force Miami to throw to keep up.
The Bills’ secondary is banged up and I’m not sure anyone can stop Tyreek Hill right now. His yardage total is only 73.5 and he had 94 in a low-scoring game with New England and 190 in a shootout with Baltimore. Let’s roll with Hill in what seems like an awfully low number. Play Tyreek Hill OVER 73.5 receiving yards, which is available at -115 at DraftKings.
