New York Giants vs Minnesota Vikings Betting Analysis
This is currently the highest O/U line of any of the Wildcard games. I feel that it will likely prove to be too high.
Yes, these teams combined for 51 points (and nearly 800 yards of combined offense) when they faced each other on Christmas Eve.
A closer look shows that there were actually only 17 points at halftime and just 23 into the fourth quarter. In fact, it was still 17-16 with just over three minutes remaining.
The last few minutes included two touchdowns and a 61-yard field goal. In other words, up until the closing moments, the first meeting arguably wasn’t as offensive as the big score suggests.
New York Giants vs Minnesota Vikings: First Meeting
In that first game, Barkley ran the ball only 14 times, seven in the first half and seven in the second. Likewise, Daniel Jones carried the ball less frequently than he normally does. Win or lose, I see the Giants making a concerted effort to run more regularly on Sunday.
Naturally, frequent rushing plays help to keep the clock moving. Keep in mind that 15 of the Giants’ other 16 games were lower-scoring than their first visit to Minnesota.
New York Giants vs Minnesota Vikings Prediction
A look at the Vikings’ playoff history shows that their last seven WildCard games have all produced 48 or fewer points. Scores were 26-20, 10-9, 24-10, 26-14, 31-17, 27-10 and 23-22. Don’t be surprised when Sunday’s game does the same.
Prediction: Under 48 Points Scored
