Anytime Touchdown Scorer Prop Prediction 1: Adam Thielen Anytime TD (+210)

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen has caught 20 of his 25 targets for 211 yards and two touchdowns in his first three games with the Carolina Panthers during the 2023 campaign.

Thielen played the first nine seasons of his career in Minnesota with the Vikings, so he will have some added motivation when he welcomes his former teammates to Bank of America Stadium on Sunday.

The Vikings have featured one of the league’s worst passing defenses so far in 2023 as they have allowed the 7th most receiving yard with 261.7 per game.

More importantly, they have allowed the second most receiving touchdowns to opposing wide receivers with five.

Thielen is definitely on the right trajectory as his targets, receptions, and yardage has increased in each week as the season has progressed.

He has also scored a touchdown in each of the last two weeks including a 15-yard grab against the Seattle Seahawks last week. Minnesota allowed touchdowns to wide receivers Mike Williams and Joshau Palmer in Week 3 game where tight end Donald Parham Jr also hit paydirt twice.

The status of #1 draft pick and quarterback Bryce Young is in question, but Thielen seemed to have a better rapport with the veteran Andy Dalton as he set season highs across the board.

Regardless Thielen has led the way in receptions and yards in each of the last two weeks and he will have all the motivation in the world to score on his former team on Sunday.

Anytime TD Scorer Prediction 2: Khalil Herbert, Bears Anytime TD (+200 or better projected line)

Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert has recorded 23 carries for only 93 rushing yards with no touchdowns in his first three games of the regular season.

However, he has faced two run defenses that rank just outside the top ten the past two weeks in the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

That won’t be the case on Sunday when the Denver Broncos bring their worst ranked run defense that has allowed 177.7 rushing yards allowed per game into Soldier Field.

The next worse team has allowed nearly 30 yards per game less and no surprise the Broncos have also allowed the most rushing touchdowns to opposing running backs with seven.

Also, only three teams have allowed more than one receiving touchdown to opposing running backs this season, the Arizona Cardinals, Bears and Broncos have allowed three.

Herbert has been involved in the Bears passing attack with six receptions on 10 targets for 64 yards thus far. The Broncos have allowed both the most rushing yards (497), receiving yards (204) and total touchdowns (10) to opposing running backs in the NFL.

We also have a close game projected with a spread of only 3 and a relatively high total set at 46, making this game as good as any for Herbert to find the end zone.
