Super Bowl LVIII MVP Prediction #1 

Patrick Mahomes Kansas City Chiefs MVP Award (+125) DK 

It almost goes without saying that the odds-on favorite to win Super Bowl LVIII MVP is Patrick Mahomes. First, he will have to win the game as Dallas Cowboys linebacker Chuck Howley is the only player to win the award in a losing effort.

History will be on Patrick Mahomes side as a quarterback has taken home MVP honors in 32 of 57 Super Bowls. Mahomes already has two Super Bowl MVP awards under his belt as he took home honors last season against the Philadelphia Eagles as well as four years ago against this season opponent the San Francisco 49ers.

He will have the opportunity to tie Joe Montana for the second-most MVPs with three. No surprise, Tom Brady is the all-time leader with five. The only other players with multiple awards are Terry Bradshaw, Eli Manning and Bart Starr with two each. While the 49ers are favored by 2 points, I think the Chiefs will hoist the Lombardi Trophy and Mahomes will surely be in the running if they do. 

Super Bowl LVIII MVP Prediction #2

Isiah Pacheco Kansas City Chiefs MVP Award (+2500) DK 

As I mentioned above, I’m backing the Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl LVIII and if Patrick Mahomes doesn’t win his 3rd MVP the next two most likely candidates are Travis Kelce (+1200) and Isiah Pacheco (+2500).

Obviously, the storyline is there for Kelce to win the award based on his talent and the Taylor Swift bump. However, for Kelce to win the award, Mahomes would be partly responsible for those stats whether it be yardage or scoring.

Another factor is we have NEVER seen a tight end win the MVP while even defensive players and a return man have. After quarterback, next in line is wide receivers with 8 and running backs with 7. Pacheco doesn’t need to rely on Mahomes production to stuff the stat sheet. He’s now scored in each of his last seven games including all three postseason games and two scores and/or a boatload of yardage may be enough to make a case for Pacheco over Mahomes.

Pacheco will also have the most opportunities as he’s carried the ball 24, 15 and 24 times in his three playoff games. If you agree on the Chiefs winning the Lombardi Trophy sprinkle a bit on Pacheco at 25 to 1.
