Tampa Bay Bucs vs Los Angeles Rams Analysis

The 3-4 Los Angeles Rams travel to Tampa Bay to face the 3-5 Buccaneers in a showdown between two teams who have fallen well short of expectations this year.

The Bucs lost their third-straight game 27-22 at home against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night. The Rams lost their third game in four tries with a 31-14 loss at home against the San Francisco 49ers.

Brady & Bucs On Rare Three-Game Losing Streak

Tom Brady just hasn’t looked comfortable so far this season and the Tampa Bay Bucs are now staring down a four-game losing streak after last week’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Brady went 26-for-44 for 325 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions while Mike Evans led the team in receiving with six grabs for 123 yards. However it wasn’t enough and the Bucs have now scored only 43 points during the three game losing streak.

The ground game has been anemic as the leading rusher had only 24 yards in each of the last two games. Offensively, the Bucs rank 21st with 332.9 yards a game. The defense has been terribly inconsistent and they rank 12th in points allowed with 326.4 yards per game.

Cornerbacks Carlton Davis III and Sean Murphy-Bunting, plus defensive end Akiem Hicks are all questionable while wide receiver Russell Gage, tight end Cameron Brate and safety Antoine Winfield Jr. have all already been ruled out.

Rams Offense Needs Tinkering

The Los Angeles Rams seem to suffering from a Superbowl hangover as their record has dropped to 3-4 after losing their second game in three weeks against their division rivals the San Francisco 49ers. Matthew Stafford threw for only 187 yards on 22-of-33 passing with one touchdown. Cooper Kupp was the leading receiver with eight grabs for 79 yards and a touchdown while the leading rusher Ronnie Rivers had only 21 yards on the ground.

The Rams are also dealing with losing key players from their title run including wide receiver Odell Beckham, left tackle Andrew Whitworth and defensive end Von Miller. The Rams’ offensive attack ranks third-to-last with 18.9 points a game behind only the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans. Wide receiver Van Morrison is questionable for this contest with a knee issue and it looks like Cooper Kupp is good-to-go.

Tampa Bay Bucs vs Los Angeles Rams Prediction

Both these squads have struggled this season after outstanding 2021-22 campaigns. Both teams are having offensive line issues and neither has had any success whatsoever on the ground. Brady is obviously dealing with a multitude of issues on and off the field and his play has suffered. However, Brady isn’t the type of guy that takes a three-game losing streak lightly.

I’m fully expecting Brady to lean on his current safety blanket in Mike Evans. Evans’ receiving yards total has been set at 65.5, which is a number he has eclipsed in five of seven games while landing on 41 and 62 in two games he fell short. He faced the Rams twice last season and had eight catches in both games for 106 yards in the regular season and 116 yards in the post-season.

Sure, it’s a difference season but the Rams defense is now way more vulnerable. Let’s jump on this low Evans receiving total and cash a late afternoon ticket!!

Prediction: Mike Evans OVER 65.5 Receiving Yards (-115 at DraftKings)
