Boston Bruins vs Los Angeles Kings Betting Analysis
Despite a shock loss against the Arizona Coyotes last Friday, the Boston Bruins have continued to deliver on the ice this season, beating both the Vegas Golden Knights and New York Islanders over recent games and continuing their stellar 23-4-1 mark on the year.
The Los Angeles Kings meanwhile look to respond coming off a disappointing loss against the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday, getting shutout in a lopsided 6-0 loss with all six goals for Buffalo coming within the space of just over 17 minutes for the Sabres as well.
Both teams faced each other twice last season with both teams winning their respective games on the road and losing at home, including Boston blowing out the Kings in LA via a 7-0 rout back at the end of February.
Los Angeles Looks To Translate Data Into Goals
The Los Angeles Kings rank 14th in the league this season on overall scoring offense, netting 3.28 goals per game on average.
However, statistically speaking, they rank much higher, registering as the 2nd best team in the league on expected goals data this season, right behind the Florida Panthers, and will be looking to turn that offensive dominance into results on the ice sooner rather than later.
A large part of the reason LA has been unable to do that so far has been their sub-10 % high-danger conversion percentage along with ranking 29th in the league on expected to actual goals differential (effectively luck) this season also.
Ullmark Continues To Get It Done In Nets
The league’s #1 goalie this season Linus Ullmark is expected to start in nets for the Bruins on Thursday night and the Swedish goalie has been absolutely lights out this season in between the posts.
Ullmark leads the league on GSAA average this season by a significant margin and also ranks 1st in the league on number of quality starts (16), along with owning a red-hot .938 SV% as well, 2nd highest in the league overall.

Despite LA ranking highly statistically on offense this season, on defense, it’s been a much different story, with the Kings not only ranking as the 5th worst team in the league this year in terms of overall scoring defense, but also statistically as well, with LA ranking 25th in the league on defensive xGA this season.
Those defensive issues for the Kings, coupled with a team low on confidence right now also, have us siding with the Boston Bruins in this one to win and cover on the puckline at +110 on Thursday. Take the Boston Bruins -1.5 (+110) on Thursday to win and cover at home against the LA Kings.
