Colorado Avalanche vs Seattle Kraken Betting Analysis
The Seattle Kraken remain at Ball Arena for Game 2 of their first round playoff series against the Colorado Avalanche. The Kraken prevailed in Game 1 by the final score of 3-1.
The Avalanche are 22-13-6 at home this season while Seattle is 26-11-4 on the road. The puck drops at 10:00 PM EST/7:00 PST from Ball Arena in Denver.
Kraken Steal Game One
The Seattle Kraken prevailed in Game One by the final score of 3-1 despite entering the game as +170 underdogs. Phillip Grubauer stood tall, stopping 34 of the 35 shots that he faced.
Grubauer entered the game with a 17-14-4 record with a 2.99 GAA and .888 save percentage. Alexander Wennberg scored a goal and had an assist.
The Kraken offense was very efficient this season as they rank 4th in goals per game and 20th in shots per game. Their defense was lights out as they ranked 15th in goals allowed per game and 2nd in shots allowed per game.
Andre Burakovsky was placed on injured reserve with a lower body injury, his status will be in question throughout the first round.
Avalanche Seek Revenge
The Colorado Avalanche were never in Game 1 as they lost 3-1 despite being -200 money line favorites. Mikko Rantanen scored the lone goal for Colorado while Alexandar Georgiev allowed three goals on 30 shots.
The Colorado offense didn’t show up for Game 1 but did rank 11th in goals per game and 8th in shots per game during the regular season.
Nathan MacKinnon led the team with 111 points while Rantanen had 105 points. Rantanens 55 goals were the 3rd most in the NHL.
Georgiev had an impressive 40-16-6 record on the season with a 2.53 GAA and a .919 save percentage. The Avalanche defense was better than average, ranking 9th in goal allowed per game and 14th in shots allowed per game.
Colorado Avalanche vs Seattle Kraken Expert Prediction
The Colorado Avalanche are -225 money line favorites with a total set at 6. The road team has prevailed in each of the four head-to-head meetings this season with Seattle winning both regular season meetings in Colorado as well as Tuesday nights playoff game.
Despite their road success, the Kraken will be pressed to win back-to-back games in Colorado. The Avs are the defending Stanley Cup Champions and we will see an increased level of hunger and determination.
MacKinnon and Rantanen will surely step up in Game 2 to even this series. They have a stacked roster and they should be too much for the Kraken to handle twice in a row. Bet the puck line to get +120 odds as opposed to the juicy money line.
