Dallas Stars vs Philadelphia Flyers Betting Analysis
A tale of two cities here on Thursday as the Dallas Stars have booked their place into this year’s playoffs as they jostle for favorable position over the last few games of the season.
That’s not the case for the Philadelphia Flyers however who cap off yet another disappointing season overall, missing out on the playoffs for the third straight time as they look to try and finish out the season on a positive note over the last week of regular season action.
Dallas have beaten Philadelphia once already this season via a 5-1 blowout back on November 13th over in Philadelphia and will be confident of doing that once again, especially seeing as the Stars have won each of their last five meetings against the Flyers.
Tough End To The Season For Flyers
Mired in a current four-game losing streak and posting a -48 goal differential on the season as well, it’s fair to say it’s been a tough end to the year for the Philadelphia Flyers.
A large part of Philadelphia’s issues over their last few games have come on the defensive end, with the Flyers allowing 19 goals across just their last four starts and ranking 23rd on total scoring chances allowed this season also.
Dallas Lighting It Up Offensively
Philadelphia’s defensive issues might play straight into Dallas’ hands here as the Stars have been lighting up the scoreboard over the last three weeks, putting 5 goals past Calgary, Arizona, and Nashville respectively across recent starts and averaging 3.75 goals per game across that run as well.
It’s been no surprise to see those offensive numbers click into gear for Dallas over the last few weeks either as they rank 8th this season in both shot conversion percentage and high-danger chances created also.
Dallas Stars vs Philadelphia Flyers Expert Prediction
While the Philadelphia Flyers will no doubt look to give another solid account of themselves on Thursday in Dallas, the fact is, there’s a massive gulf in where these two teams are at right now, and the Stars have the ability to consistently hurt the Flyers offensively in this one.
Philadelphia actually outshot Dallas by a fairly wide margin in their only game this season back in November, but it mattered little as their penalty minutes cost them in that game and the Stars were able to capitalize, putting five goals past them on their own home ice.
With Colorado, Dallas, and Minnesota all sitting on 98 points in the Central Division, don’t expect the Stars to let up here as they notch another dominant win and cover at home against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday.
