Golden Knights vs Jets Betting Analysis

The Vegas Golden Knights will take on the Winnipeg Jets in the First Round of the Western Conference playoffs starting on Tuesday, a rematch of their 2018 Western Conference Final matchup in which the Knights won in five games.

The Knights have looked similarly dominant this year also, finishing top of the Pacific Division with 111 points and ranking only behind the Boston Bruins this season in total profitability for backers.

The Jets meanwhile snuck into the second wild card spot in the West after closing out the season by winning five of their last seven games, a welcome relief after missing out on the postseason last year.

The Golden Knights won all three games against the Winnipeg Jets this season, putting a colossal 13 goals past them in the process.

Jets Offense May Be An Issue

This Jets offense has been misfiring for the majority of the season, ranking 23rd on offensive xG this year along with having a sub-10% shot-conversion percentage also.

Even their recent winning streak hasn’t exactly boosted those numbers either, with Winnipeg averaging just 2.80 GPG across their last five starts, one of which was a six-goal effort against San Jose on Monday as well.

They’ll need to improve those numbers drastically if they’re going to not only contend with the Knights in this series, but make a run in these playoffs as a whole.

Vegas Dangerous In Front Of Nets This Season

While you won’t see many Vegas Golden Knights players at the top of the scoring charts this year, that’s not to say the Knights haven’t been dangerous in front of goals when given the opportunity.

Only the Seattle Kraken, from teams who made the postseason, have a higher overall high-danger shot conversion percentage this season than the Vegas Golden Knights, as while they may rank 22nd in terms of total shot count this year, they’ve been making those shots count.

Golden Knights vs Jets Expert Prediction

The situation in nets for Vegas does remain a slight concern ahead of this series, with Brossoit and Quick leading the line in goals since Logan Thompson’s injury, but that’s still a less-than-ideal situation to be in than what Winnipeg have in the reliable Connor Hellebuyck.

Hellebuyck has been simply magnificent for the Jets this year, posting the 4th highest GSAA average in the entire league this season, along with the highest number of quality starts as well.

Goaltending aside however, pretty much every other available metric is in Vegas’s favor here, with Winnipeg’s 30th-ranked high-danger conversion percentage especially a concern for them moving into the playoffs.

We’re taking the Vegas Golden Knights to get the series victory against the Winnipeg Jets and move on in the playoffs.
