Los Angeles Kings vs Edmonton Oilers Betting Analysis
The Edmonton Oilers go back on the road to face the Los Angeles Kings for Game 6 of their first round playoff series. The Oilers lead the series 3-2 after doubling up Los Angeles 6-3 on Tuesday.
The Kings had a 47-25-10 record during the regular season while the Oilers posted a 50-23-9 mark. The puck drops at 10:00 PM EST/7:00 PST from Crypto.com Arena in LA.
Oilers Look To Advance On The Road
The Edmonton Oilers entered Game 5 heavily favored with a -230 money line and prevailed 6-3. Nick Bjugstad scored twice while Stuart Skinner stopped 25 out of 28 shots he faced.
Edmonton had one of the NHLs top offensive unit as they ranked 1st in goals per game and 6th in shots per game.
Connor McDavid led the Oilers with 153 points while leading the league in points, goals and assists. Leon Draisaitl recorded 128 points while ranking 2nd in points, 4th in goals and 3rd in assists.
The Oilers have scored three or more goals in four of the five post-season games thus far. Defense was below average as they ranked 17th in goals against and 19th in shots against per game. Stuart Skinner posted a 29-14-5 record with a 2.83 GAA and .913 save percentage.
Kings Face Elimination
The Los Angeles Kings fell behind 3-2 in their first round playoff series after getting crushed 6-3 against Edmonton on Tuesday night.
Adrian Kempe scored a goal and had an assist while Joonas Korpisalo allowed 4 goals on 19 shots before being pulled after only 31 minutes of action. The Kings were a solid offensive team that ranked 10th in goals per game and 11th in shots per game.
Anze Kopitar led the team with 74 points. They have also scored 3+ goals in all but one game. The Los Angeles defense was very good as they ranked 16th in goals against and 4th in shots against per game.
Joonas Korpisalo finished the season with a 18-14-4 record, 2.87 GAA and .915 save percentage. Korpisalo has struggled in the post-season with three or more goals allowed in four of the five games.
Los Angeles Kings vs Edmonton Oilers Expert Prediction
The Edmonton Oilers are favored by -165 on the money line and +150 on the puck line with a total set at 7. After falling behind 2-1 in the series, the Edmonton Oilers have won two straight games to take a 3-2 advantage.
The Oilers have scored 3+ goals in every game outside of Game 3 where they scored two goals. Leon Draisaitl has recorded 10 points while Connor McDavid is right behind him with 8 points. Joonas Korpisalo has really struggled thus far and he only made it through halfway of Game 5.
The Oilers have covered the puck line in two their three victories and I fully expect them to cover in Game 6. Look towards Draisaitl on his points over 1.5, he has cleared this line in 3 of the 5 games with one point in the other two games.
