It’s us against the books in this business, and with the software, algorithms, and engineers they have at their disposal it can seem unfair with how sharp their lines can be.

However, every day the books get a bit lazy with some lines, and that creates the perfect opportunity for us to flip the script and build our bankrolls against the evil empires.

Three weeks ago we went over Lebron James over 1.5 three-pointers, and he’s gone 4-0 since then. Two weeks ago we went over Nazem Kadri to have a point, and he went on a nice 3-1 run for us. Last week, we discussed Victor Wembanyama over 1.5 three-pointers and he’s gone 2-2 since then, but I’ll keep playing him til we turn a profit.

Evander Kane has his quirks, and his contract gets eye rolls and groans from Edmonton Oilers fans, but he’s been a cash cow for unders recently, and his upcoming schedule screams profit.

Kane has 35 points in 56 games, but those 35 points have come in only 21 games so this play is already 35-21 for the season, but the beauty lies when we go Rollin In The Deep of the numbers (shoutout Adele).

Kane had 20 points in the first 21 games of the season, and he’s cooled off mightily since then. He’s gone under 0.5 points in 17 out of the last 23 games, and when he does have a point it’s been against bad teams.

The six teams he’s had points against recently are the Coyotes, Red Wings, Ducks, Blue Jackets, Kraken, and Canadiens. Five of those teams are in the bottom 13 of goals allowed per game so he’s been quiet against good teams, and a front-runner against bad teams.

The Oilers upcoming schedule includes a back-to-back against Seattle and Pittsburgh who rank 6th and 10th in goals allowed followed up by a game at Boston who is 5th in goals allowed so I think we have a beautiful three-game stretch where we will go 2-1, or 3-0 if we take him to not have a point, and he was -110 in his last game to not have a point so the price is right.

After those games, he has three more road games against Columbus, Buffalo and Pittsburgh so if we want to bet on him for those games, we only have one bad matchup against Columbus, and we can lay off him in that game.

The books have been putting out Evander Kane under 0.5 points at -150 or better and with upcoming road games, back-to-backs, and tough matchups, we have the advantage here as the books laziness will be our prize.
