NHL Player Props Predictions 1: Erik Karlsson, Penguins Over 0.5 Points (-130) DK
Pittsburgh Penguins defensemen Erik Karlsson has recorded 32 points with 7 goals and 25 assists through the first 43 games of the regular season.
He has only recorded a point in 23 of 43 games but has recorded a point in 9 of his last 10 games. Karlsson is a former San Jose Shark whose very familiar with the Arizona Coyotes and he’s recorded a point in 4 of his last 7 games against them.
The Coyotes rank 23rd in shots on goal allowed (31.43/game) but 10th in goals allowed per game (2.95/game).
However, Arizona ranks 23rd in penalty minutes (10.32/game) and power play goals allowed (0.69/game). Karlsson is on the #1 power play unit for Pittsburgh, and they are favored with a -155 money line with a total set at 6.
The Penguins and Karlsson will see plenty of scoring opportunities and Karlsson will be heavily involved with 25+ minutes of ice time.
NHL Player Props Predictions 2: Seth Jones, Blackhawks Under 0.5 Points (-145)
Chicago Blackhawks defensemen Seth Jones has only recorded 13 points on the season with 12 assists and a lone goal thus far in the 2023-24 campaign.
Jones has only recorded a point in 11 of 31 games on the season for a 35% success rate and he’s been even worse recently with a point in only 4 of his last 15 games.
The Vancouver Canucks rank 18th in shots on goal allowed (30.61/game) but 2nd in goals allowed per game with only 2.59 per game.
The Blackhawks are coming off a 4-3 victory over the New York Islanders on Friday night but scored two goals or less in 9 of the prior 10 games.
They also scored less than one goal in 7 of those 10 games and the Canucks are huge favorites with a ridiculous money line of -440. Look for Chicago to struggle to score in general, making it nearly impossible for Jones to record a point.
