St. Louis Blues vs Colorado Avalanche Analysis

The St. Louis Blues staved off elimination with a 5-4 OT win against Colorado on Wednesday, forcing tonight’s Game 6 at home inside the Enterprise Center over in Missouri.

However, the Blues have been far from infallible at home over these playoffs so far, owning a pretty poor 2-3 overall record at home during the postseason.

Colorado similarly haven’t looked their best at home over these playoffs, owning a fairly mediocre 3-2 overall record in Denver this year, but have won all four of their road games this postseason, a feat they’ll look to continue here on Friday against the Blues.

Colorado Look To Turn Off Cruise Control

After a couple of rocky starts against Pittsburgh in the last round, Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin looks to be back to his best in this series against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Russian goalie has allowed just 2 goals total over his last two starts and has topped that off with a red-hot .973 SV% average over both of those starts also.

Shesterkin has had a phenomenal 2021/22 season so far, ranking as the league’s #1 goalie on GSAA average and SV%, with the Vezina Trophy favorite seemingly only getting better as the postseason wears on.

Blues Stage Huge Rally To Force Game 6

After getting outscored in St. Louis by a combined 11-5 scoreline over two lopsided losses in Missouri in Games 3 & 4 and then following this up by going down 3-0 early in Game 5, this second round playoff series looked all but over for the Blues as they faced elimination.

However, St. Louis managed to engineer a massive comeback in that game with three back to back to back goals to tie it up in the 3rd before being forced to tie it up once again with just a minute remaining in regulation.

That level of character from the Blues has so far been a constant thorn in Colorado’s side over this series so far and should no doubt serve them well here tonight as well.

St. Louis Blues vs Colorado Avalanche Game 6 Prediction

We’re taking the Colorado Avalanche Team Total Over 3.5 goals on Friday as they take on St. Louis in Game 6.

Colorado have covered this total in all three of their previous games against St. Louis and in three of their four games against Nashville in the previous series also.

On top of that, the Avalanche own the league’s #1 offensive scoring mark over these playoffs so far (4.44 gpg), #1 in offensive shooting out of any team still remaining also (39.89 spg) and have went over the total in each of their last four games when starting as road favorites over these playoffs.

We expect goals in this one tonight and we’re going to take the Colorado Avalanche Team Total Over 3.5 goals on Friday as they take on the St. Louis Blues in a pivotal Game 6 in Missouri.

Prediction: Colorado Avalanche Over Team Total 3.5
