St. Louis Blues vs Dallas Stars Betting Analysis
The Dallas Stars are in a battle for the Central Division title heading into Wednesday’s matchup and will know a win against the St. Louis Blues in this one, a team they’ll face again on Thursday night, will go a long way towards potentially making that happen.
St. Louis meanwhile have been eliminated from the post-season already, but head coach Craig Berube stated he nevertheless wants his players to finish out the season strong with a good performance over their last two games against the Dallas Stars.
Dallas won the only meeting between these two teams 4-1 back in November, with Dallas putting up a massive 16.6% shot-conversion percentage in that game.
However, the Blues have got the better of the Stars over the last few seasons, winning nine of the last 13 head-to-heads against them.
Dallas Coming In Hot
The Stars are getting hot at just the right time as they come into Wednesday’s game off the back of four straight victories, outscoring opponents by a massive 17-4 margin across that four-game span as well.
Dallas can thank a defense for that which has allowed the second-fewest high-danger scoring opportunities to opponents this season, with only the Carolina Hurricanes having a better overall record than Dallas in that department.
Blues Come Up Short Against Top Opponents
Prior to their 5-3 loss against the Minnesota Wild over the weekend, the St. Louis Blues had gone 8-2-2 across their previous 12 games.
However, a lot of those wins came against teams such as Philadelphia, Chicago, and Vancouver, with St. Louis not faring as well against playoff-caliber teams this season, losing 20 of their last 28 games against teams with an overall winning record.

There’s no doubt St. Louis will want to fight hard until the end of the season, but motivating factors play such a huge role in hockey, and the fact is Dallas has everything to play for here while St. Louis has very little.
On top of that, the Stars have looked simply excellent across recent games, failing to allow more than a single goal to any opponent across their last four starts and remain one of those playoff-caliber teams that St. Louis has struggled so much against this season.
We’re siding with the Dallas Stars to get the road win on Wednesday taking on the St. Louis Blues.
