Stars vs Predators Analysis
The Nashville Predators and Dallas Stars face off for the second time this season in what will be a four game series in the Central Division.
Nashville took the opening game of the series, beating the Stars out 4-2 on home ice in their first meeting back on November 10th, so will it be a case of repeat or revenge in this one.
Predators Hot in Front of Goal
The Predators rode into the All-Star Break red-hot, winning four of their last five games in all and will look to continue that dominating form here.
Even more impressive for Nashville over that run was the fact that they scored at least 4 goals in all four of those wins as well, with forward Filip Forsberg grabbing the headlines with 5 goals across those four wins as well as he remains the Predators top goalscoring threat this season.
Dallas Looking for a Playoff Spot
Despite a strong 15-6-1 mark at home this season, the Dallas Stars still find themselves on the outside looking in with regard to a playoff spot in the West.
Dallas’ poor road record has mainly been the issue for the Stars this season, and they’ll be eager not to let that trickle over to their home form here as despite their strong season record at the American Airlines Center this season, they’ve dropped two of their last three there.
Stars vs Predators Prediction
We’re looking towards the Dallas Stars at home tonight to get the win against the Nashville Predators.
Jake Oettinger will look to rebound off a poor showing in nets against the Calgary Flames for the Stars last time out, but he was solid in his two previous outings prior to that, allowing just 2 goals total to both the Flyers and Bruins combined along with an average SV% of .963 across those two games as well.
Dallas also ranks 9th on the season this year on expected goals against on defense, along with giving up the 5th fewest high danger scoring opportunities to opponents this year as well.
We believe all that comes together tonight for the Stars as they bounceback at home against a Predators team that are just 1-3 over their last four road games.
